A party of 3 stayed for an evening meal and overnight in their accommodation. The evening meal was very good, excellent value and Mel gave us a brilliant and friendly service. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Would be happy to return here if the opportunity presents it self. View all feedback.
What Vacationer729245 doesn't like about The Ship Inn:
We went for Sunday lunch last week and there weren't many people in the restaurant. We had to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. The roast beef was delicious, but everything else was served cold. The roast potatoes were hard and there were many complaints from other customers. Some people even got up and left. We won't be going back again. View all feedback.
What has happened to this pub. Went in for food and drinks with our friend. Food absolutely disgusting. There were 3 of us, two haddock and chips one scampi and chips. Haddock average, Scampi and chips on all three plates not cooked properly. Scampi soggy mess, chips pale and still chilled. Beer flat. Very disappointing evening, definitely won't be eating here again. Not even good pub grub at affordable prices, way overpriced. Disgusting experience.
Lovely pub with great log/coal fires. Used to allow dogs, but no more. Used to have lovely large fish, but are now just average with sub-par dark brown batter. Chips are now the average pale pub fare. Burgers are also very dissapointing. And now the prices have been hiked! Not sure we'll be back very much :
Came for Sunday lunch. Took a while to acknowledge us despite a lady at the bar with her back to us slicing lemons infront of a mirror! Ordered Sunday dinner. Food was so below average. Small portion, meat so so dry, Yorkshire puddings abysmal and gravy awful. No one came to ask us if we were ok so we left. No ambience, not a nice meal and sadly won’t be back

Unfortunately, Sunday lunch was not available at this restaurant. However, the gammon was delicious. The creamy garlic mushrooms were some of the best I've had in years. I recommend arriving early if you want to try the Sunday lunch, as it can get busy.
