Pizza Express

I have been to this restaurant several times and have always been impressed by the attentive staff and good service. However, during my recent visit, my experience was quite disappointing. As I walked in, I was met by two staff members who were slouching against the counter and chatting instead of attending to customers. The manager, who was not in uniform, was also chatting with them instead of managing the team. When I placed my order, the staff member seemed disinterested and after receiving my starter, I found the pizza to be undercooked and lacking in toppings. Despite the poor quality of the food, no staff members came to check on my meal or offer assistance. Additionally, the restaurant was quite cold throughout my visit. Overall, this experience has made me hesitant to return to this restaurant in the future.

The restaurant was uncomfortably cold during our visit. Every table had at least one person wearing a winter coat and/or scarf, and I found myself warming my hands over the table candle at one point. While the staff were walking around in T-shirts, I understand that it may be their uniform and they need to move around to stay warm. However, for those of us seated and eating, it made for a rather chilly dining experience. The food was decent, typical of what you would expect from a Pizza Express. Despite the cold, the service was attentive and quick. Unfortunately, some of the desserts that were meant to be warm were served cold, but we didn't bother to complain as we were eager to leave and warm up. It's a shame because the restaurant has a nice ambiance and location, but the temperature inside is just too cold.

This experience reminded me why I avoid restaurants like this. The food arrived cold, the salad was a mix of rocket and spinach. The staff were unhelpful and indifferent. The restaurant did not have toilet facilities available as they were closed off. We were directed to use the toilets at the nearby shopping center, or go to Nandos. Overall, it was a disappointing waste of time. I would recommend avoiding this place and going to a decent pub instead.

The restaurant was very busy and noisy, with a limited menu and uncomfortable seating arrangements. However, I really enjoyed the ice cream selection at the factory and found it to be an excellent all-you-can-eat option. I have visited many restaurants in York and this one was fantastic.

Had a lovely meal with a great atmosphere. Had great service, especially from Jess. Great for families or going out with friends.
