The best chicken I've ever had. I didn't know chicken could be so good. I simply cannot give a high enough review of this place. The welcoming family atmosphere that the owners and employees give is amazing. These folks helped us weary travelers with dinner. When I tell you right now this was hands down the best food I have eaten at a restaurant. My family and I will return here and we will tell everyone we know abou... View all feedback.
What Sarah Davis doesn't like about Chic'king Coop:
We had heard good things but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The portions we received were absolutely pitiful. The kids meal had more fries in it than my regular sized meal. The fries were all cold. After all was said and done we were all still hungry. $60 to feed 3 adults and a toddler for less than mediocre food, only for us to still have to make food at home. We were also missing a few things. It just all... View all feedback.
The third time is the charm. our first delivery went very well, the food arrived hot and fresh, we loved it, the technique they use for frying the chicken is unique enough to make it super crispy outside, moist and juicy inside, we only ordered one piece to try it out, our main dish was fried cod dinners, it comes with coleslaw and fries. The cod was nice and tender inside, the exterior was crunchy, very flavorful, and plentiful, the fries were good as well, crunchy exterior, moist inside, just the right amount of firmness to hold and dip into your favorite sauce. The coleslaw and hush puppies, meh! left a lot to be desired, we can live without them both, just your average ball of bread, not much flavor there, the same with the slaw, it also comes with a slice of white bread, honey butter, and tartar sauce. We liked it so much we decided to give it another go, the same dinner cod filets with added pieces of chicken, the cod was fresh and fried well crunchy exterior, moist and juicy interior, we did not receive our sides of chicken at all, and this time around the fries were cold and limp, no worries as we were compensated for the oversight, we didn't want fries to begin with but they automatically come with the meal, no changes allowed, gotcha! The third time around we ordered a chicken meal, we are happy we gave it another chance, the chicken is outstanding, fried a tad hard, the outer skin is so crispy it reminds you of pork rinds, full of flavor, moist and juicy inside, the fries were the proper temperature, we even consumed the coleslaw, this is definitely a keeper as far as fried chicken goes in this area.

I really wanted to like this place from what I read. I will say the chicken is great, but that was it. They were understaffed and had a sign letting you know it would take longer which I appreciated. I ordered 2 piece chicken with a side and gizzards, but when I got home had livers which I don't eat. The greens had a burnt taste and the mashed potatoes are very strong with a salty sharp taste. The banana pudding is ok, but doesn't taste home made at all. I ended up spending $30 and ate 2 pieces of chicken (which were great) , 2 pieces of bread, and some of the so so pudding.
Best chicken around. The green beans and collard greens are out of this world. Best banana pudding hands down.
