Don't be put off by the external appearance of the pub as I was. Looks like a grubby public bar type Hotel. Hubby took me for lunch one day and I was so pleasantly surprised. Big dining areas both inside and out (covered). Clean and friendly. Food was great! Wow View all feedback.

Since the change of owners, it is easy to get a seat as the service and meals aren't as good as they used to be. My favorite Chicken Schnitzel is still on the menu but the new owners have changed the type of schnitzel which isn't as nice. There is never many people dinning anymore so it is easy to get a table. We used to have to phone and book a table when the last owners were there. We only go here if the other venu... View all feedback.
Do not visit this restaurant if you have celiac disease and need gluten-free options. Despite clearly stating my need for a gluten-free meal when ordering, my food still came out with chips fried in the same oil as gluten-containing items and a dressing that contained gluten. The waitress was helpful and took the dish back to the chef, assuring me they would not just scrape off the chips. The gluten-free options were limited, so I ended up with a chicken breast with avocado. When it was brought back out 15 minutes later, after my husband had finished his meal, the avocado on top of the chicken was mostly overripe and had brown patches. It was a disappointing experience.
Large group of friends (all locals) wanting to have lunch for a friends anniversary. Upon arriving a staff member carried on that they didn't want to serve us as there was too many of us. Then after ordering we noticed there was price differences with our meals (we did get refunds but the inconsistency is not good). When food arrived all meals looked very average and tasted the same. Such a shame as this pub was one of the best places to go for a meal.
Ordered Pork Roast, lots of mash potato veges were fine. BUT the pork slices were cut with the grain a total no, no) dry tough even with gravy, must have been sliced in cold room for a couple of days! Had trouble cutting with a steak knife. Ate most of it with help from partner as I was hungry.... The other meal was pork belly with chips salad on special $24.95) we ordered side of mash potato $3) extra. But all that came out was the Pork Belly on mash potato! Asked waitress for the chips salad that was paid for, guy came out with it. Obviously not happy! Showed waitress the terrible dry pork asked her to tell the Chef/cook not good enough to serve to customers. Will not go back. Told nice waitress that we were not asking for a refund or discount.
We dropped in for a Sunday lunch and were surprised by the prices being Brisbane 5star. We had the fish and chips $25. When I ordered the young girl gave me only one set of knives, I asked for two but didn't notice that she only charged me for one meal. When my wife's came out we realised the error and had to order another meal so she had nearly finished by the time I got mine. As for the meal it was grease on grease. All I can say is it was pretty ordinary and we won't be back.
4 of us were in Kingaroy for business on Wednesday 11/8. Rather than return to Brisbane immediately we decided to have a meal at a local, pub and leave a few dollars in the town. After the meals arrived one of my colleagues requested some tomato ketchup for his chips. Surprisingly we were advised that a portion of sauce costs $2.50! Really? So we ordered $100 of meals and management decree a portion of tomato ketchup requires a payment of $2.50. Seriously people for the last 18 months we’ve heard how tough it’s been in the hospitality industry and we get it. That’s why we decided to eat local, but think about the need to charge $2.50 for a splash of sauce to add a. It of flavour to a pub meal. Despite expressing our view to two members of staff there was no way they were going to part with sauce without another payment. Crazy customer relations in my view.
