Stuns on this little local jewel today. My husband and I stopped for lunch and can't wait to go back. Everyone who works there was so friendly and the customers all chat with each other. My husband got the A1 berry with onion rings and I got the Philly Steak packing with fries. The food was really good and piping hot. What Pamela Galiardi-Robles doesn't like about Uncle Daves Jr. :
Really nice staff. I got the calf liver dinner. The green beans appeared to have been dumped directly from the can to my plate. The liver tasted okay but had too much gristle. Probably a good place to get a burger and fries View all feedback.
Breakfast is served all day and I decided I'm in the area next time. Oh and the desert! Since we were sitting in front of him, I couldn't check them several times. We left with a few slices of the most delicious chocolate cake!
I have been here for lunch Saturday, 5 February 2022, and was very pleasantly surprised as there are not many real mothers and pops in the world, and for lunch DIESER PLACE WAS JAM PACKED. I soon found out why: the service is excellent, the food was really homemade, and both mom and pop can cook! The crab meat is bought by Maryland, and it is real blue crab. The portions are generous, and it's all you want to eat! Many desserts are made in-house – and also run out quite quickly; and the desserts (like the apple cake I have eaten) are NOT in the house, must be made in someone else's house because they are too good to be commercial! Can you imagine an apple cake with a good crust, and real apples? But the whole food was good – and I'm really sorry that I was virtuous and rejected to have it to a la mode, as everyone was pushing! But the pane was generous, and I was full. It was one of those experiences you wish you could have every day. I loved everyone in the building and half the people in the parking lot before I left. There is also an enormous takeout business – I don't see how they can handle the whole business, but they seem pretty happy and everyone has a good time. There is a good, solid card of burgers, but there were also four specialties for lunch – and challenging dishes! This was my first visit to King George, and I found it quite a distance for a day trip alone, but if I ever return, I will know where to go!
A very friendly diner with really great homemade dishes. The whole staff was friendly, the prices were good, and the deserts looked amazing, although I had no room after my lunch. I had the Uncle Dave's Burger with mac-n-cheese eggs and bacon. Great. Very recommended!
We love our Uncle Dave. King George's best home cooked diner. If you are in King George and you want a good meal or milkshake at good prices, come...
Checked out this place while camping locally in the area. First this place is easy and covenant to find located right off the road on Route 3. Parking was not a issue there was plenty of gravel parking. Service was great. The waitress was friendly and was able to seat our group of 8 with no issues. She continued to give drink refills without prompting throughout the meal. It impressed us that they were able to do a lunch item at breakfast time. So our 5 year old was able to have a corn dog at 7:30 in the morning. The food selection was broad enough to give everyone enough of a choice. Several people had omelettes which they use American cheese not cheddar. Also the omelettes are served with home fries and there is no option for substitutions. Someone ordered the special which was pancakes with strawberries, eggs, and meat. For some reason it came with blueberries not strawberries. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast and would visit again.
