My husband and I went to the Akima house for supper and the service was magnificent. They were very quick at taking our order, serving our drinks and the food came in great time. We eat here quite a lot and the food is always fabulous and very tasty. The atmosphere is great and the service is always quick and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Kincardine. You have a variety of choice... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Governor's Inn:
Food was average in terms of taste, nothing spectacular. The food selection at the Mother's Day brunch was very limited and very sparse, despite a couple of large group reservations that arrived after we did. Desserts tasted like they had come out of the freezer. Wait staff did not seem prepared, twice we had to find them ourselves in addition to also having to find items like cream for coffee on our own. This hotel must be luxurious because there are additional, unnecessary pillows on the bed.
The restaurant is new and clean, but unfortunately, the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors all the time. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was polite.
We decided to try this restaurant for breakfast on Sunday since they advertise that they serve both breakfast and dinner.
Just had a lovely dining experience at this restaurant. It has been a few years since I've had a meal here - many used to rave about the buffet but I think they were more impressed by quantity rather than quality - I always found it to be unidentifiable mush that had spent too long under a heat lamp and I was never impressed. So I must commend the new chef for bravely taking things in a new direction. My meal tonight was excellent - flavourful and fairly priced. The menu was so varied it was difficult to make a choice. The chef came out and greeted his customers. The atmosphere was relaxed & comfortable. Our waitress had a great sense of humour.Based on my experience this evening I would definitely recommend this dining experience. Offers a limited breakfast menu open to the public, dinner served every evening except Sunday, does not serve lunch.
Good place to go to eat or a place to stay overnight. They have a Sunday Brunch that is worth checking out.
