What Роза Тъпчилещов doesn't like about Cafe:
Review is for restaurant only. Food was very poor, ordered chicken carbonara and potato skins with pulled pork as a main, Carbonara had chewy meat with sinues still in it, asked for chips instead of garlic bread, got chips and no bread but charged full whack for chips.€4.50... potato skins came basically 2 roasted spuds with a spoonful taken out and the smallest pulled pork on top, not even hot, no chips no salad and... Disappointing service waited a very long time before our order was taken. Limited skeleton menu on offer with no chicken options which is misleading as the hotel website states the full menu is available daily until 9pm. The wife ordered Fish Chips which was below standard tiny fish coated in too much batter which was dry and crusty. I ordered the Hickory Burger which was quite nice but only came with a tiny portion of chips and no salad. No salt and pepper on the table or offered. No check by any of the waiting staff to ask if everything was ok. Deserts were also of poor quality the pear almond tart which I ordered was very dry straight out of the microwave. The wife ordered the warm chocolate Brownie which was also very dry. Over all an extremely disappointing experience and after this it is very unlikely we will return which is a real shame as this place used to be our favourite restaurant in Ireland.
The food at this restaurant is decent, but it does cater a bit too much to tourists in terms of pricing. However, I must give credit where it's due - the Seafood Chowder is definitely worth trying. My wife had her heart set on trying their Mojito cocktail, but unfortunately the bartender was unable to make it as they were overwhelmed with orders that night.

We booked a dinner to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary but were left feeling really disappointed. We were a party of 8 including my children. We had all enjoyed visiting the Park hotel in the past on various occasions including a fabulous day of my sister 's wedding in June 2017(The food was fantastic that day and the following evening in the café bar). On this visit myself and my mother ordered the ceasar sald to start. It was poorly presented with the giant lettuce leaves lying unchopped in the bottom of the bowl stuck together with a fairly nice tasting dressing but the chicken was absolutely terrible, it was what could only be described as the thin slices from a dried up chicken breast and the bacon lardons were few and very dry too. For €7.50 I would have expected much better quality. My wife ordered the breaded mushrooms, and to be fair they were really tasty but €7.95 for five closed cup mushrooms seems a little steep. We waited at least fifteen minutes for our starter plates to be collected after everyone had finished and a further 45 minutes to receive our mains. I could have forgiven this if the food was up to standard when it did arrive, instead the potatoes tasted like the frozen mash you can buy, it certainly tasted as though it had been cooked earlier and reheated, the veg was cold and tasteless except for a strong fragrance of rosemary that had been added to disguise this. My "medium ' sirloin steak came out dry and well done, at this point I complained, it 's replacement was absolutely fabulous but unfortunately this was the only thing on my plate I ate. The chips were tasty but unfortunately we 're undercooked and the majority were inedible as were hard potato texture. I am not a picky eater and rarely complain but this overall experience was well below par. My daughter was the only one to enjoy her food, she ordered the Ciabatta pizza on the kids menu. Just to add I was also a little disappointed that the kids menu didn 't include burger and chips. We had to order off the main menu for my 7 year old and the cheese burger was €14.50. We decided against any further course and I went to the bar to pay, the guts of €170 for poor food. I informed the barman and he apologized and offered us dessert and coffee but everyone was ready to go and we politely declined. He also offered to look after us with a bottle of wine next time we were in but I can 't see us rushing back. I had heard from others that the food had gone down hill before visiting but didn 't want to let that cloud our judgement, we had at least seven or eight good experiences there between us in the past. The hotel is nicely kept and clean so it 's a shame that standards seem to have dropped in the kitchen. From what I could see nobody working there stuck to their specific role, people behind the bar helped out at serving time and it gave the impression that the hotel was understaffed. I would like to think that the management could turn the problems around, the hotel is local to my parents and this is the reason we decided to book there but unfortunately I will need to look further afield in the future.
While staying at the hotel, I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The menu offered a good selection of reasonably priced options for a hotel restaurant. The food was excellent, with generous portion sizes, and the staff was very friendly.
