The food was just mediocre. The fried rice and egg rolls were quite salty. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but the menu is limited. I found the price of $45 and some change for four egg rolls and two shrimp fried rice dishes to be on the high side, especially considering the quality of the food. However, I’m glad I had the chance to support a local business.
The Roll Up Bar is a charming little place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly welcome and decided to order quite a few items: two servings of meat-loaded fries, two and three meat fried rice dishes, four egg rolls, pulled pork, macaroni, chicken, and I couldn't resist trying a slice of their homemade red velvet cheesecake. It took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, but considering the amount we ordered, that was to be expected. The portion sizes were generous and great for sharing. I really enjoyed the loaded fries, especially with their delicious yum yum sauce. My husband thought his three meat fried rice was just okay, and the egg rolls definitely tasted better with some sauce. However, the red velvet cheesecake fell a bit short for both of us. That said, we would definitely give The Roll Up Bar another try, particularly for dining in. Overall, it’s a solid spot that’s worth revisiting.
Small place with a 15-20 minute wait for food, this wasn't a big deal as long as the food is fresh. Food was freshly made and hot even when we got home. This was our first time eating here and it will not be the last. I enjoyed everything we ordered, we had the shrimp fried rice with yum yum sauce and another with the spicy yum yum. Daughter had the pork egg roll and wife had the crab egg roll and for desert the cheese cake egg roll. All was great, least favorite was the crab egg roll.On a side note, not sure why people complain about the price. Everything is arguably expensive nowadays and this place gives you plenty of food for the money! They do offer smaller portions for less money for those who might be on budget.
This is a fantastic restaurant! Although the wait for the food was long, it was definitely worth it. Keep up the great work, everyone!
Stepping into The Roll Up in Killeen felt like huddling up in a tight, strategic space, akin to a locker room where focus is key. It’s small, but every inch is maximized, much like a well-planned play on the field. I tackled two of their major league dishes: the beef loaded fries and the Philly cheese steak egg rolls. The beef loaded fries were like a powerhouse running back – robust and full of energy. Each fry was a player, crisply executing its role, while the beef, seasoned to perfection, charged through with flavor. The melted cheese and fresh toppings were like a well-timed block, opening up the field for a taste touchdown.Moving to the Philly cheese steak egg rolls, they were a game-changer, a play you didn’t see coming. Imagine the classic Philly cheese steak, but reinvented with agility – steak and cheese packed into a crispy egg roll casing. It’s like a successful trick play; unexpected, but it scores big with every crunch.Sure, the place may be as compact as a coach’s office, but it's all about the game plan – and here, it’s the food that’s calling the plays. I’m giving this spot a 4 out of 5. Just like a team that might not have the biggest stadium but plays with heart, The Roll Up in Killeen is a strong contender in the culinary league. For anyone looking for a meal that brings both strategy and flavor to the table, this is the place to be.
