Ava's Caribbean - Killeen

I usually go to 1Luv, but my barber told me to check this place out. Me and Michelle came here, we both ordered oxtails. This was her first time trying oxtails. After she ate , I asked her “how was it?” She said it was pretty good. Then I proceeded to ask her “what will you give it on a scale of 1-10?” She initially gave it a 5/10.

The food here is absolutely incredible! I ordered jerk chicken, curry chicken with their rice and beans. The meat was moist and flavorful down to the bone ??️ Toe curling deliciousness!

I have been a longtime patron of Ava’s Caribbean restaurant. I found the food I received tonight to be very disappointing. I ordered three large oxtail plates and received something more like three small oxtail plates. Even my kid said where’s the meat. Each plate had four oxtails. I have never received a plate this small before. Ava’s has lost a customer. The plate that is used in the picture is a saucer. It is not even a dinner plate. the food container is that small.

We have not eaten here, but Tracy teaches Line Dance and Swing here and we had a really good time! 10 stars for atmosphere and not one, but TWO Clean Plate Awards!!!

Doesn't matter if you spend 15 or 50 dollars like I did you expect to get what you pay for, well that was not the case today. Ava's has been alright in the past, but today it was so bad I'll never spend another dollar keeping them in business. The Oxtail was the worst I've ever had, it wasn't even cooked thoroughly. The rice was crunchy and the cabbage might as well of been raw. Unacceptable and to anyone that writes a review saying Ava's Caribbean food is 5star...........STOP LYING!!!!!!!!!
