Description

Cronin’s offers a welcoming family atmosphere that appeals to both families and seniors alike. The menu features an array of tasty options, including gluten-free dishes like shepherd's pie and hamburgers with gluten-free buns. While the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, some diners expressed concerns about allergen communication, particularly regarding celiac safety. The restaurant provides gluten-free bread and alternative sides but warns of cross-contamination risks with fried items. Overall, guests appreciate the comforting food and pleasant ambiance, although definitive allergen protocols could enhance the dining experience.

Nice GF options including a hamburger with GF bun from the kids menu. Ask for the gluten free menu. Shepherds pie was tasty and I enjoyed the chowder. They brought GF toast as an alternative to the bread served to the table.

My family and I enjoyed Cronin’s Shepherd Pie which came with soda bread but our server brought out gfree toast for the kids with Celiac. She told us the fries are used in the same fryer so there is a concern of cross contamination so suggestioned the mashed potatoes and veggies instead with his burger. I would recommend stating you like the burger cooked to medium with a little pink as in most places here they don’t ask and like to cook it well done. They do have a fair gfree bun. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Our server said they have celiac safe options, but then when I asked about preparation she replied “don’t get anything if you’re highly allergic.” Confusing! I ended up only getting a cider, which was tasty. I nima tested my husband’s shepherds pie, which is what I would have ordered except they don’t do anything differently for celiac/gf. It came back as safe, but weighed with her responses, felt safer not eating here. It only takes a crumb!
