Was Anonym at Jam Tarts a mag?
While taking my mom and son on a quilt shop hop, we stopped in Killam for lunch. The staff was so friendly and made us feel part of their family!!! The food was amazing and by far one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!! My son wanted a peanut butter sandwich and just as I was explaining to him that that wasn't an option, the guy behind the counter pulled out a jar of peanut butter and said of course you can have... What Anonym dislikes about Jam Tarts:
Was there for lunch a month ago, had the reuben sandwhich, it was good! But the sandwhich with a pickle and small plate of chips will set you back around $13. I dont know who set the prices, but it was not worth it! Good sandwhich not worth it. Service was alright, and atmosphere was cozy. View all feedback.

If you're on highway 13 in Alberta, Canada and a hunger creeps up check your map to see if you're close to Kellam. Longing for some scrumptious food? Would you like to eat in a cozy café that’s more like a living room than a restaurant. Jam Tarts in Killam, Alberta, Canada will soothe your soul and make your tummy shout howdy. The proprietors,Trudy and Steve Haughland, welcome you with warm smiles and treat you like family. You feel like you've come home to people who sincerely care about you.I was in Killam for nearly a week doing some genealogy research in nearby Lougheed, a village of 270 people. A Loughheed friend, Janice Bishop, known by everybody in this area as a most caring person who loves to serve her community, suggested I give Jam Tarts a try. The first morning I walked in Steve greeted me with a big smile and asked if he could fix me something to eat.“Sure.”“How about two eggs over easy, potatoes, bacon and toast?”“Sounds good Steve.” In short order a substantial plate of food was placed in front of me. The bacon was delicious. The best I’ve ever eaten. The over easy eggs where perfect. The fried potatoes weren’t greasy. Not frozen. The toast was thick but light and was baked at the Lougheed bakery. Three tomato slices gave my breakfast just the right dash of color.Over the next few days I took new friends to breakfast or dinner at Jam Tarts. We were never disappointed. One evening when I brought a couple in for dinner instead of looking at the menu I asked what was for dinner.Trudy said some nice roast beef had just come out of the oven. I had creamed corn and mashed parsnips with my beef and a lettuce and radish salad. Wonderful fare and generous portions.Locals gather here for morning coffee. They discuss the past, present and future. They take every chance they get to rib each other in a friendly way.One man, with a crewcut announced he had had his hair cut and that there were two opinions about it. A woman at an adjacent table said it looked a mess and asked what was the second opinion. This cracked everyone up.I had my last breakfast at Jam Tarts with Lyle, a new friend. I hadn't tried the biscuits so I bought a couple for the road to eat on my way to Edmonton. One bite told me I’d made a mistake. I should've bought half a dozen.Jam Tarts is a gem in a countryside of beautiful rolling hills, gorgeous farms where many farmers raise canola, wheat, oats, peas and cattle. You should even go out of your way to enjoy Jam Tarts. Open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Oh yes. Coffee refills are free. If you're from Seattle this is very important.

I work in Killam once a month and always look forward to heading here for lunch. Best Rueben sandwich I have ever had!! Always great choices for fresh soup with your sandwich, and some delicious and unique recipes! I do find lunch to be a little pricey, but the quality of the food offsets that concern, for me. Owners are always very pleasant and welcoming, and the little cafe is cozy and well-kept. Looking forward to next month, already!

The restaurant had fantastic decor and excellent service. The corn chowder was delicious and the homemade sauerkraut on the Reuben sandwich was also very tasty.
