Contribute FeedbackThe Playwright in Kilkenny offers a mixed dining experience. While some patrons enjoyed the friendly staff and reasonable prices, others were disappointed by soggy food, high drink prices, and lackluster service. The breakfast options received high praise, with the mini breakfast being a standout choice. Customer service ranged from exceptional to disappointing, with instances of thoughtful gestures and indifferent responses to feedback. Overall, the restaurant could benefit from improving consistency in food quality and service. Despite the mixed reviews, some diners found The Playwright to be a charming spot for a traditional Irish meal with a welcoming atmosphere.

We stopped and sat outside The Playwright for a couple of drinks with friends. There is a nice atmosphere with people passing by and a busker playing music. The staff were very prompt to sit us down and serve us our drinks. Would visit again
Playwright has the best breakfast in kk by a mile , get the mini breakfast ,comes with beans chips and mushrooms , I usually can't finish it , the chips are really good and even the bread for the toast is superior to anywhere else , costs bout 10.80 but well worth it , Dores up the road is 12 and u only get bare egg bacon sausage , no comparison , close second might be Lannigans
