We stayed here for nights Sunday-Wednesday. The room was fabulous, lovely and roomy, cleaning lady asked everyday did we need anything . The breakfast was unreal best we ever had so well ran by Mags you will get that BMW for your retirement yet) she couldn't do enough for us. Pool was fantastic too. Hotel situated in the perfect place walking distance to everything. We will be back View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kilkenny Ormonde:
Stayed here a few years ago and loved it. Returned but it seems really dated. No fridge in room. Very small window with a horrible view. Just very basic really. Staff mainly all very friendly which is why it gets the three stars. Food only ok. It was buffet breakfast but a staff member gives you what you want. They also weren't happy when we asked to move table as we were right beside the entrance door. One waitress... View all feedback.
I was here for a weekend. nice hotel with friendly staff, especially laura in the recipeable. she was so efficient and always smiling and we met her next morning also for breakfast.
Omg the best hotel in earth, in which we have ever stayed....my little one had a seizure to the breakfast time and ended up in kilkenny hospital. the staff was amazing.....very good the whole staff was great and lisa, the manager was amazing. I would recommend that this hotel and defo be back....the swimming pool was amazing and children loved it. the food was from this world. the rooms were beautiful....and lotterie the hotel is located in a center of everything.
Bad points: stay here at the weekend and had booked a deluxe king room for €240 incl. breakfast. there was a double bed in the room so judge by photos on the hotel grounds I got a superior double? certainly no king size bed, as their website says that the room I booked has only one bed in it. the shower allowed water leak on the floor, there was a sticky brand/shell under the sink the sink itself seems blocked. room 337 if they want to check it. the pool is over the street, how is pay parking, but at €6 it is not too bad. there was not a tee to the breakfast. good points: great location in the middle of kilkenny, in short walking distance to large restaurants historical sites. the staff is friendly and helpful. the bed, although not the right, was very comfortable. the breakfast was nice.
We have a visit to the spa which we really enjoyed. The staff are all so nice. Then afternoon tea in the hotel. Which was lovely, I got a voucher for my birthday two years ago and because of covid never got to use it, and the hotel still accepted it. That was a lovely gesture....thank you.
We have recently visited Kilkenny for a wedding, and stayed at the Ormonde hotel. We are a family with 2 young boys, and this hotel has it all! The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is good, and the facilities inc the gym and pool are fabulous. The staff can’t do enough for you. One of our sons has been sick and “Mags” really helped us care for him she genuinely cared Kilkenny, and the Ormonde Hotel we will definitely be back to visit soon! Thank you Heather
