Beer House - Kiev

When I went there, a live band played. the service was top notch! most foods were excellent! the only part was the Ukrainian steak I had was a bit chewing. I made more delicate steaks at home. the prices were quite high after kiew standards, but I guess they pay for the service and atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant in a great location. The beer was good and the waitstaff was nice enough until it was time to go then our waiter made a big fuss over the amount of tip we left, demanding that we leave more.

First off, our waitress was very nice! Her and the burger was the two good things! We ordered lamb ribs, pork ribs in soy caramel sauce and the beer burger. Both the pork ribs and lamb ribs was so fatty and meatless. Very disappointed. Would not recommend eating here, drink a beer then leave.

Beware. Tourist trap at its worst. The place has inflated scores. Just scroll down the reviews and you will see dozens of 5* ratings from accounts with exactly One Review Made. That is not fair play to start with. Next. How come you call this place a Beer House when you only have 4 types of beers (locally brewed)? They actually have more types of tequila, rum, or vodka, or digestifs, than beer. Tried their amber ale and Munich Helles. Both are unbalanced and highly tilted towards malts though ale does have unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Overall beers are flat and almost not carbonated at all. Ugh. Food is good though you never know how much you will actually pay as they quote steak prices per 100g; you don 't normally weigh your food before you consume it, do you? Waiters were courteous however it was the first time in my life when upon presenting the bill the waiter tells you actually, tips or service charges are not included here, so, erm, well, you know what . Menu prices enclosed (1EUR~33UAH as of today, for reference).

The food is ok. I had the American steak and it was cooked petty well. The beer was good and the staff were very welcoming. Bogdana was friendly... However... The cost on the menu is not what is seemed. We only paid 8000 for the apartment between 4 of us for 4 nights... 4 steaks and fourteen 0.5l drinks here cost us around 6000. This is before they made us pay an extra 500 tip before leaving
