An awesome Hotel to sit relax and watch the world go by. No better place than in the restaurant having breakfast. Scrupulous. Add to that watching the passing ships heading to and from the Loch - best in the morning. Service and friendliness of staff...More
I like to go here for lunch or dinner, either with friends or family. The meals are excellent and superb, never was I disappointed. Great for seafood or steaks.
I discovered the restaurant from an article on the website of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs so we were expecting the best. We were not disappointed. We were made very welcome and the service was impeccable. All of the dishes were great. Thank you to everyone for a lovely evening
After a boat trip in the afternoon at the castles of the North Sea canal, the decision to spend the coffee time at the restaurant/café and hotel pistolsmith is not difficult. The authorized war name should not be frightened. In the past there was a forging with fortified village rug. The owners collected historical weapons in the guest room. In the meantime, only the name of the weapons has remained, but a slight choice has remained. A corner with interesting exotic masks from all over the world is proudly presented at the reception. Here it is worth looking at these once a few minutes. The forging of weapons is only slightly increased on the channel; You have a look at the Holtenauer Schleusen and in summer there are always some larger sailors, as here the waiting zone for the sports boats. Interesting are, of course, the great gods and crusaders who come from the castles into the canal or wait for the further trip to the Baltic Sea and walk right past the restaurant The restautant himself comes clean and thrive without having to look embarrassing. Everything is bright and the tables are beautifully covered. On the whole front there is a terrace which is always well visited in summer. But we still put ourselves in the window and order a piece of cake and a box of coffee. The employee counts us the cake selection of the day and I choose a piece of mokkatorte. It won't take long until everything's on the table. The coffee is of Darboven and tastes excellent. The mokkatorte has a fine coffee note and I like it very much. Actually, you should eat two pieces. I pay for the pieces of cake 2,80€ and the box of coffee 4,20€, which appears appropriate for this place. Before we pay, the sanitary facilities are visited. Here too, everything is clean and tidy. Conclusion: It is worth returning here. The stay is relaxed, the staff friendly and the cakes and the coffee delicious. That makes you feel more, because I heard a lot about the restaurant kitchen.
