We had reservations, so we had a table for 8 on the veranda overlooking the marina. Otherwise there was room inside. Very efficient service. The server created a diagram to observe orders and share the invoice. The food was okay, but nothing special. The special fish... plate was enjoyed by several. I ate here twice as it was very convenient for the British Kiel Yacht Club. The restaurant is connected to the Kielwasser Hotel. Asparagus was in the season, so I had her special area of White Asparagus with schnitzel for my main, starting at the first... time with a tomato soup with meatballs. That was very good. The parts were enormous. During my second visit I tried the Holstein Farmers' Breakfast, a local dish that is essentially a bacon and potato omelet. Sufficient to say that if you were a farmer that keep you all day! My friends all tried different dishes (the herring was particularly good) and all were satisfied with their decisions. Prices are very reasonable. Some English is spoken and there are English menus. Credit cards are taken over. I wouldn't go out my way to visit here, but it's a good place if you're close.
I had to eat with an old friend and say, but we had not visited an agreement on the restaurant. spontaneously I chose the keel water I had recently heard it was called a secret tip. My vehicle simply found space in the hotel's parking lot behind the house, we entered the house through the back door. Through another door we came directly next to the vaults to the restaurant and were welcomed by the head of the house nicely. On my question about a table for two people we were transformed into the second guest room where two tables were still free. We chose the table in the window and took place. Operation A service had come directly with us and immediately handed over the menus. The three female farms, which have provided us alternately in the evening, were always very friendly and accommodating, were able to answer all questions about food and were very attentive. Also the question of serving food, whether everything is to our satisfaction, and later when cleaning, whether it tasted, was asked. After cleaning we were asked if we wanted a coffee or cappuccino (my companion wanted. Then an operation came to our table at regular, but not too short intervals and asked if we had more wishes (we would no longer have). There are German cuisine with international sounds, but also dishes of the regional Dutch cuisine. My companion chose the “brain stripes from the Rumpsteak with fresh rags onions and champignons in cream, roasted wild rice and mixed salad” (14.50 € ), there is no size selection. I ordered “cream chips with fresh mushrooms à la cream, wedges and mixed salad” (L: 12,80 €, S: 10,50 € in the “L” version, with a mineral water (0,4l for 3,00 €). After a reasonable waiting period, the food was served. First the salads came in small porcelain dishes on lower plates. They were obviously very carefully assembled, some pieces in it had received interesting forms. All ingredients were fresh and crispy, the dressing, an obviously self-coloured vinaiigrette, was very well tasted. Shortly afterwards the main dishes were served On the plate of my companion there was a hemisphere with a mixture of long grain and wild rice, which there was a kind of anger with the steak strips. On my plate was a plastered carving of quite respectable size, partly covered by the champignons and sauce. As decoration there was a piece of pineapple on the edge, the wedges were placed in a separate bowl. They were obviously convenience goods, but the carving was good with a loose panning, tasty and delicate. The mushrooms were fresh and well harmonized with the cream sauce, also my companion was very happy with their food. Ambiente The establishment of the house has already been described in my previous review, which I am saving today. However, I must say to this visit that larger groups were sitting in both guest rooms, some of which produced a considerable discussion noise, so that a quiet, relaxed conversation was hardly possible. In addition, at the end of our stay the guests had left the door of the smoking room in the cellar open, so that the smoke odour went into the guest rooms. For this, the restaurant can do nothing, so that this is not the case. Cleanliness The dining room was well maintained, dishes, glasses and cutlery were perfectly clean. The toilets are on the latest level regarding design and technology, it was ok and functional and it was clean and well maintained.
Seit langer Zeit waren wir nicht so zufrieden mit einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und schmackhaften Gerichten. Hier braucht man nicht eine Vorspeise bestellen um satt zu werden. Der Salat ist ebenfalls reichlich und schmackhaft.
Wir haben dort zweimal zu abend gegessen und auch kaffee getrunken und waren jedesmal zufrieden. Hervorheben moechte ich die Bedienung die sehr net, freundlich und auch Spass verstand und auf die Wuensche der Gaeste Eingegangen war.
