always excellent eating and service in a traditional Sudanese environment. saj al salamak is one of the best restaurants in khartoum. we ate the fried ejil, fish agashe and local salatat dakwa aka erdnussalat. View all feedback.
It is one of the best options in the area for fish dishes. They serve many types of Nile fishes, fried or grilled. They also serve fish Agashi which you need to try. Aside of normal fish dishes, they serve Sayadia rice (fishermen rice style) it is the best to have in my humble opinion. The fried fishes are are too oily (typical Sudanese way of cooking fishes), if you are not used to it I would suggest going for grilled options. Note that the service could be bit slow and it takes time, if you are in hurry I would suggest calling ahead to make order before you move. It is not suitable for a solo meal in my opinion, but it makes a great choice for a group. Prices are reasonable but not cheap, and it depends on the fish type.
Really good fried, battered fish (a bit gritty but no bones). Very nice coffee. Covered areas. Dilapidated children's play area but they still enjoyed it (beware of the sharp rocks at the bottom of the slide).
Awwww. I love the fish! fabulous flaky tilapia. I hate tilapia, but that was good.! especially with the accompanying dips, preferably the chili one
Awesome place with a very delicious fish You must to try agashi fish BBQ
