good that we went two nights in a row. charming, thoughtful decor. the employees are amazing and welcoming. we had good starters, we had to eat and dessert two nights in succession. the menu had the usual selections to which they would hope and some personal day specialties from the kitchen. What Johnny Schmitt doesn't like about Abbondanza Key West, Fl:
About one week age I stopped in for dinner. I had shrimp scampi with garlic bread. The bread was delicious but I never ate shrimp scampi with so much Oregeno in it. I was picking hard pieces of that spice out of my mouth. I didn't care for it. View all feedback.
My family and I expected this restaurant and we were happy. The Marinara sauce is excellent and the service is beautiful. I suggest having dishes with the Marinara and her Italian meatballs. We have the lasagna, the chicken piccata and the mushroom caps. The fetters and chicken piccata were fine, the noodles were a bit bland and the chicken was slightly overcooked. The outstanding court was the lasagna that was FANTASTIC! We finished the meal with the key lime cake and the tiramisu. Both desserts have not disappointed. The key cake could be the best I ever had. Overall, this edifice could not meet my expectations. I think with the right order this place could reach a 5 review for me.
Fantastic!!! Come on! The Chicken Piccata is served with the best Gravy we've ever had! If you try the gravity, you will have food Nirvana! Seriously. Carolina, is a great and friendly waitress
Love it!. Italian food is one of our passions. So it was an even better day in paradise when we passed through this charming little Trattoria and decided to stop for dinner. Succinctly put people in Abbondanza know how to do casual fine food better than almost any other in Key West. The interior is a pleasure in the eyes, with several small dining rooms, dressed up until eating in a historic old house. The melodies of Italian crooner play soft in the background and complement the experience. The menu is huge, with dozens of interesting pasta, meat and seafood options. Our meals were attractive inexpensive, attractive plated and tasty. The pasta was perfectly cooked, like the accompaniments at our meal. My husband said his cannelloni was the best he had in many years. Portions were big, but not overwhelming. Service was no distraction, although our waterglasses were longer on the refill than we wanted, and at times our waiter seemed on auto pilot. It was just a little trouble in an otherwise perfect meal. Prices are modest according to Key West standards. Let me summarize by saying that if I ever decided to own a restaurant, it would look and taste like Abbondanza! Eating: A- Atmosphere: A Service: B Menu Philosophy: A Value: A
