The Boat - Kerrville

Really cool spot... however, I don 't think the Seat Yourself policy is working for them. We ended up leaving along with another table that decided to leave. Meanwhile, one table finally got refills and their food and the other one had finally received their drinks. I paid for our sodas, but honestly feel they should have been comped. That 's based off my own experience from being a waitress... if a table ever walked, and all they had received were drinks, no way was I making them pay for it. Clearly there was some large enough issue to make them walk. Definitely on me for waiting the 45+ min for any improvement. Also, when I asked our waitress for our ticket, she asked, Who 's your server? ... lol. We all have off days... this could have been one... but I highly recommend they invest in a hostess position.

Drinks were ok and oysters were good but omg the other food was terrible. the calamari was terrible everything was definitely not fresh. so disappointing

See the update below...only about 6 wks from the first review.. Food was great... seafood and yummy onion rings. The atmosphere is full of talking and TV s and laughing...lots of fun going on. Servers are great and attentive. Food prices are not bad. Beautiful view of the Guadalupe River, especially at sunset!! Update. We ordered our food...both, a Cajun Salad with crawfish tails. To make a long story short. My husband got a salad...I never did. After much questioning and waiting and lots of excuses we asked for mine to go. She brought out 2 salads at different times and neither one was my salad. We paid our bill for my husband's salad after she brought us the wrong bill first! And there were only 3 or 4 couples there at the time!!!

Shrimp good ..oysters small but taste good ... I've tried the frog legs 3 different times..... VERY SALTY every time !! Nomore froglegs from here !

Took almost 2 hours to get our food. Service was kind, but restaurant was only 1/3 full. Take time to train. Can’t come back because we can’t commit this amount of time for a meal. Food was alright, hence 2 stars.
