Contribute Feedback What Pierre Vallee doesn't like about Auberge de Meneham:
This place is in a fantastic natural setting-right by a great beach and when we visited there were still plenty of tourists wandering around. It’s not unreasonable to pay more for the setting but €11.80 for two draft beers (of notably poor quality-gassy and flavourless)...is a p take. Couple that with really miserable service from the guy in charge and you will definitely wish you’d just taken some nice local cider/b... View all feedback.
One of our best meals in france. Local fish and cider, good kids options (beyond the nuggets etc). Reasonable value for money.
This is the third time I've visited this restaurant. The young servers were nice each time I visited... But the drinks and some if the food pricing is terrible. I've eaten a fish dish which was very tasty but on the expensive side. The second time a sweet crepe which I'm sure was only reheated and a bit soggy. (I've eaten in a huge amount of crêperies in Brittany.) The price was correct. The third time was just for afternoon refreshments. €3.10 for a small glass of coke or a diabolo!!! What I feel is wrong about this price is that it wasn't even a full can or bottle per person for this price, but, a smallish glass only three quarters full poured from a big bottle of flat coke. The setting and the beach areas are magnificent. Well worth visiting just to see this area but be careful what you order.
They were busy with a large group for lunch and we only wanted coffee and a snack, but they were very accommodating, particularly friendly and welcoming. We were made to feel very welcome, quick service amend the coffee and crepe were delicious!
Very relaxed lunch surrounded by locals! We'd recommend for lunch if you aren't concerned about budget. Glass of cola 3€! We had three drinks, two adult lunches, a kids lunch, one dessert to share (which was delicious!), coffees and a kids ice cream cost 90€.My ham and cheese galette (black wheat pancake) was a bit too rich and I should have gone for the butchers selection like my husband.
I have never given a really poor review before and this is not a review of the food or the location; it's a review of the service (or more precisely the absence of service). We had booked for 7:30 and arrived spot on time. Shown to our table and given menus. There were 2 other tables occupied at the time. Then: nothing happened! After about 10 minutes a large (probably local) party arrived, were fussed over and had drinks within a few minutes. We still sat there, no-one coming to ask for an aperitif order, let alone for our food order. Nobody made eye contact and the staff who ventured into our vicinity seemed to be avoiding and totally ignoring us. (We are not the sort of people you'd cross the road to avoid, nor do we normally complain.)So, after 25 minutes of nothing happening for us (and there were plenty of staff present) we just had enough and left. Even then, no-one seemed to notice or care.Very sad and disappointing, especially as the pricing is such that one would expect a particularly high standard.
