The restaurant has beautiful grounds and a friendly staff, and the tasty selection of charcuterie was a delightful addition to the experience. The wines were good, though they may not have been my personal favorites. At $40 per tasting, it didn’t seem like a great value, though. View all feedback.
What Betsy Hauck doesn't like about Chateau St. Jean Winery:
Beautiful winery, sub par service which ruins the otherwise great tasting experience. The host we saw wasn't friendly, actually a little rude. Didn't bother to explain their wines when asked for recommendations, other than these two are white and these two are red as if one would not know it, probably doesn't really care for their wines. I liked the fume blanc though! View all feedback.

We had a wonderful experience at the winery, and our host, Jeff, was very pleasant. Our tasting included two white wines, one Pinot Noir, a taxi (which I assume refers to a Cabernet), and a blend. Both the Pinot and the blend were delicious. We decided to join the wine club because they offer so many great wines and benefits! The cheese plates were fantastic, but I would recommend avoiding the sandwiches.
One of the best wineries in Sonoma County! The wines are truly incredible, the charcuterie board was delightful and satisfying, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It’s worth both your time and money. I highly recommend this place!
Beautiful place. the area and the architecture are beautiful. the wee are not rabby either. we enjoyed wine tasting on the terrace. surrounded by stunning landscape. great place and good wee. out winzerführer thevaioux very likely that he was his name mispelling about his years worth knowing. he made our experience unforgettable.
It was a beautiful spring day in Sonoma, Ca. and we decided to visit Chateau St John Vineyards and winery. The place is elegant and refreshing at the same time. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. We elected to have wine tasting and was seated in the outside patio with the gorgeous view of the rose garden. The wine selections are absolutely smooth and satisfying. Our host was fun and very knowledgeable. He made our experience quite wonderful. A must try if you're in the area definitely!
