The Mother's Day brunch was not as enjoyable as expected. I arrived at 11:45 a.m. for a lunch reservation, but the food offerings were lacking for a midday meal.
I went to lunch on Saturday, October 1st, 2022. My table was dirty with flies hovering around an old ketchup-covered pepper shaker. When I brought this to the attention of my server, she had no response. I then asked for a salt shaker, and she picked one up off the floor to put on my table. When I asked the hostess for a different one, she brought back the same shaker with a sticky residue on the side. Despite wanting to leave at this point, I decided to wait for my food. The Clam Chowder was mediocre and lacked flavor, requiring me to add a significant amount of salt. The fish fry was average, with a watery consistency and little taste. The Coleslaw was extremely dry and bland. The "twice baked potato" was clearly not twice baked, as it contained uncooked bacon bits stuffed back into the potato skin. It was evident that the dish had been assembled by hand poorly. As someone who has owned restaurants for 25 years, I urge you to take better care of your establishment and train your staff to follow New York State Health guidelines. While I understand that you cannot control the actions of every employee, you can certainly strive to instill a positive attitude and adherence to health regulations. I do not plan to report these sanitation issues to Albany, but I implore you to take this feedback seriously and raise your standards. Your server should consider finding another job. Thank you.
