I have been to this restaurant and the food is excellent. It is a good option for those craving Italian cuisine. The service was also enjoyable. I ordered the lasagna which was delicious, and we also tried the fried cheese appetizer, which was quite tasty. I would recommend the lasagna over the pizzas, but I may try them next time. What User doesn't like about Romano's Italiano:
We waited for over an hour for mediocre soup and poorly prepared spaghetti puttanesca and rubbery calamari with watery polenta. The waiter did not follow standard service etiquette and did not apologize for the long wait. We were also surprised to find that the service fee was already included in the bill, adding insult to injury. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant unless you enjoy being ignored, hungry, and... View all feedback.
Fabulous authentic Italian. Romano’s is a fabulous piece of authentic italia in the heart of kensington. I chose the orata di mare al forno baked sea bream. it was so fresh that I would have fed on the Italian coast, to eat the day-catching directly from the sea! my friends also loved their meals, in canelloni con ricotta e spinaci and penne quattro formaggi. a family-run restaurant with impeccable and friendly service by Romano itself. all 3 of us will definitely be for 2., 3., 4., 5.
I quite often go here and have no idea why everyone is complaining so much, I guess you can't please everyone especially when they are willing to compare the fast food in pizza hut against something made by a true artisan! I have been there many times and everything I have had is been delightful!
If you like good , genuine, Italiaan food you should find somewhere else to eat. The food was low quality and poorly prepared. Everything the other guy said about the pizza is true Topped off by incessant Abba. A great disappointment.
Worst pizza in London. Me and my boyfriend were looking for a nice Italian before heading to the Royal Albert Hall, only a 10 minute walk away. We walked past Romanos and it seemed perfect. It is on a quiet street, small cosy and all the staff were Italian. However the pizzas were dreadful, I have never been to a Pizzahut, but after eating a slice I wish we had rather gone to The Hut on the corner. I was however hungry so I ate half, but was unable to finnish. The house wine was good and the service OK. I told the manager or owner that the pizza was tasteless, but rather than doing anything it seemed to spark an arugment in the kitchen (the door was open). Anyway, my advice would be not...read more
I'm afraid that Romanos was a disaster. We were a group of 9 which should have been relatively easy to deal with but still they managed to mix up our orders and deliver food over a 15/20 min timescale per course and some orders were forgotten even though they were written down and checked. I am also afraid that some of the food was not very tasty. We will not return.
