Reviews summary

Nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, this restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere and a diverse menu. Diners rave about standout options like the breakfast sandwich and delightful chai latte, though some have found the pricing high relative to portion sizes. While the food generally garners positive ratings, customer service experiences vary—some appreciate the attentiveness, while others feel overlooked. The ambiance is praised, making it a perfect spot for relaxation or casual work sessions. However, diners note the self-service format may disappoint those expecting traditional waitstaff. Overall, this eatery appeals to those willing to pay for quality in a welcoming setting.

Was Bethany eklic at Java Nation a mag?

I enjoy visiting Java Nation. They serve good coffee, and when my drink was burnt, they kindly replaced it. They have a point system, but the staff don't always ask if you have one. For instance, I made two purchases: the first was around $100 and they didn’t ask about points, but the second, only about $16, they did. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to apply points to the first larger purchase, which was frustrating but... View all feedback.

What J Ward dislikes about Java Nation:

If you are a coffee shop, you shouldn't run out of coffee (it's coffee, make some more). That way, you have to buy a latte instead. Then, you get to pay 20 bucks for a tuna sandwich and a latte. Oh, joy. View all feedback.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast on vacation and really enjoyed it! We got an omelet, a breakfast sandwich, a latte, and a fresh juice, all of which were delicious. The omelet was generously filled with mushrooms and goat cheese, and served with deliciousbreakfast potatoes and a small salad. I love a place that puts well dressed greens on a breakfast plate! The breakfast sandwichwas better than most, with house made sausage, nice sharp white cheddar, and a delicious aioli. The English muffin tasted housemade, as well. The carrot aid juice (carrot, apple, ginger, lemon) was good, although I would have preferred more carrot.Overall it was a lovely breakfast!

Great! Extremely strong coffee. Lots of options and homemade syrups/foam toppers/etc. The bathrooms had cypher locks which was a little bizarre.

I come here all the time and decided that it's silly that I haven't left a review yet. The coffee is good enough that it makes me sad when I have to settle for something from other chain coffee shops who shall remain nameless. The food is quite good too,and I think their empanadas rival those from other latino bakeries I've been to. Location is convenient for me. You'll spend acouple extra bucks here but I've never found it overpriced for what you get. I've gone often enough that occasionally the ordergets mixed up or is slow, but they do get busy sometimes, so consider this if you order during usual peak times. The workershave been across-the-board nice to me when I've asked them to fix a problem. You all better keep coming so that I continue tohave a place to come get my breakfast on the weekend.

So embarrassing that I've been driving by this place for years and just assuming it was yet another coffee shop with a few pastries. Turns out they have a great food menu for breakfast (assuming there's a lunch and dinner menu too). Healthy choicesand interesting choices. Food was well made and well presented. Nice places to sit indoor and outdoors. Glad I finally thoughtto stop by. So much more than just a coffee shop.

This location is a locals gem. Food is delicious, their pancakes will not disappoint. Of course, their coffee is superb. I stopped for six days straight to purchase their iced late until I realized I probably needed to stop????

I've been coming to the Kensington Java Nation since I moved here 10 yrs ago. I've always stopped when I'm in this area (I live in Silver Spring). I love the fare, the coffee, and the atmosphere. BTW, I love the renovated outdoor seating area.I'm thrilled to now have a Java Nation in dntn Silver Spring!

This morning, I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich along with three chicken and cheese pupusas, which cost me $25. I just opened the container of pupusas and discovered that they only had cheese in them.

If you're from Portland or a similarly laid-back city, you'll get what I mean. Coffee is a big deal here. I asked the staff who the roaster was, and they didn’t even know. I wanted to know what’s good at the café, but they just asked if I was ready to order. No, I’m not! Their atmosphere felt really pretentious and distant, and the customers seemed the same way. It gave off a suburban vibe, with so much Lululemon gear around that it was almost overwhelming. I visited back in September 2021 and haven't felt the urge to return since. If you’re seeking a warm, friendly, or relaxed vibe, this isn’t the place for you. It’s concerning when a coffee shop doesn’t even know who roasts their coffee, especially for someone like me who appreciates quality coffee from the Pacific Northwest. I drive past this parking lot three times a week and just chuckle, thinking, “Yep, not for me!” Signed, Not pretentious!

I am especially pleased about the crepes that I enjoyed this evening absolutely those that were served in java nation with lemon, although I expected lemon cured with sugar and that was more like lemon jam, but it was still wonderful. I love consistency of the service very friendly. the only thing I found angry is that my medium size latte was served in the same cup as the big drink, but my friend ordered.

Great experience! The coffee is incredibly strong, and there are plenty of options, including homemade syrups and foam toppings. However, the bathrooms had some unusual décor that felt a bit out of place.
