it's a food truck. eating is good and tasty, but the whole organization could be a little better. I have the chance to try them at 1201 e west hwy silveton condomium. many dishes were out in about 30 minutes. but again it was good to eat. also the website to present order is a pain to treat. food is 5, organization 3, total 4 View all feedback.

What Lea Wolff dislikes about Java Cove Dc:
I really don't like giving bad reviews but this food truck was receiving a lot of business of people who ended up getting disappointed. They ran out of so much food, instead of giving a free drink or reducing the price or anything they wanted to charge people the same price instead of offering a reduced price for less food. To me, that seems very greedy of management and customer service. We waited 30 minutes for our... View all feedback.

When the time came, I was ready to walk the block and a half to the school for my pickup. At the last minute, my partner offered to drive me. Just minutes before we arrived, a heavy rainstorm hit, but thankfully, he was in the car. However, he ended up waiting 30 minutes for our meals, even though I had placed my order hours in advance. As we waited, a woman with her child stood in the rain by the truck, soaked while waiting for their food. When we finally got our order, I was surprised by the portion sizes; they were smaller than I expected. While I was pleased that the curries weren't overly spicy, I still hoped for a richer flavor. I did enjoy the salad dressing, which had a nice hint of peanut, but I had to discard the excessive amount of chilies in the salad. The lumpia and fried corn fritters were quite good, and they did their best to follow my instructions about serving rice on the side without any utensils or napkins. While they weren't able to put the rice in a separate container, they did package it in a larger one. I appreciated that they didn’t give us any plastic or paper products, as it always feels wasteful when I have reusable utensils at home. Overall, I wanted to like this place more.

Absolutely estatic to see food from my region around dc area. Service was quick and courteous. I had beef rendang and asked for extra tempe, I offered to pay extra since tempe was not in included but it was given for free.Their beef rendang is delicious. They satisfy my craving for indonesian/malaysian food.

I'm a fan of Indonesian food and tempeh, but this was really bad. I got the vegetarian platter, which I was assured was also vegan.Half the container was salad with peanut sauce. It was okay, but not exciting. Two spring rolls that were okay.Corn fritter that was [shrug]Tofu, rice, and tempeh(? that was very, very bad, and did not taste vegan. I tried eating the rice and tofu, skipping the grey chunks that I initially assumed were tempeh (albeit not of a flavor or consistency I've ever eaten . But after a while the unpleasant taste just got to me, and I couldn't avoid the indications that something about it just wasn't vegetarian. I couldn't bring myself to try another of the grey chunks (which had a meaty look to them , and I ended up throwing the meal away half eaten. A waste of food, which disturbs me, but I just couldn't swallow any more.

This food truck is amazing! The food is consistently incredible and it has quickly risen to become one of my favorite spots in the city. I highly recommend the lamb—it's absolutely delicious! The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because of the wait time; there’s only one person working in the truck, so there's often a line. While the 10-15 minute wait is worth it, it can be tough when it's scorching hot outside.
