We loved it there . We were there Thursday Dec 7th and thought it would be crowded, we did make a reservation. This restaurant should be crowded. The service was great and the food was delicious. We had chicken with spaghetti squash and green beans with a delicious sauce. My partner loved the fish and chips with smashed peas. What foodie2 doesn't like about Striper Bass:
We've eaten here many times before and this may have just been winter transition, but it was pretty dismal. The food was terrible, there was no wine list “just the usual choices of cabs, Pinot, etc” , and it was almost deathly quiet. Hopefully a new season will perk it up again. View all feedback.
We arrived on a Friday night with a woman eating at bar and couple in dining room. One waitstaff and the place was very quiet. The menu was funky and we ordered apps and dessert for our meal. The food was EXCELLENT. Unique and fresh but not so unique that one wouldn't have given it a try. The bourbon chocolate pecan pie was unreal. Our server was hilarious and efficient and the chef came out to deliver meals as place filled up and chatted with customers. It's in the back of an inn and kind of an odd location but we highly recommend this place.

So much different than the restaurant we enjoyed so much many years ago. I know things often need to change but...the decor is more like an upscale pizza or sandwich shoppe with a full bar, not a full service restaurant with entrees in the $40-$65 range. Server was nice and fun but other workers there were sitting at tables with other people...not a professional vibe but once again, things change.

We were there last year as well.
Waitress was terrific. (She was also serving as bartender) Must have been a bad night for the chef. Had to send two dishes of braised beef and one chicken dish back so overcooked that they were like shoe leather. The others scallops and a lobster roll were very good. Our appetizers of oysters and beef tartare were great. Festive tree encouraged the holiday spirit. Waitress comped the three meals and was sincerely apologetic. I will go back as our past meals were delicious!
