Cedar Elm offers a mixed dining experience marked by a delightful ambiance and varied culinary offerings. While patrons praise the delicious cuisine, attentive staff, and inventive cocktails, there are concerns about portion sizes and menu variety. Some diners have noted a lack of available options, which can be frustrating, especially during peak hours. Although many enjoyed the creative dishes and vibrant atmosphere, others felt that the perceived value did not match the prices, leading to dissatisfaction. What aaa AAA dislikes about Cedar Elm:
3.5 The building is beautiful, and the space is really nice. The flatbread and wine was good, but the fish dish I ordered was fishier than expected not the greatest texture. I’ve heard brunch here is good, so would consider returning for that. Service: Dine in Price per person: $20–30.
I have visited this restaurant for the fourth time. The first visit, shortly after opening, was fantastic with great food, service, and atmosphere. This experience made me want to come back. However, the second visit had such poor service that it affected our mood and made for a bad evening. The third visit was forgettable. During my most recent visit, the valet was missing, and the restaurant was only 25% full, leaving the spacious room feeling empty. The drinks were average. The menu had been reduced to just bread and butter ($8), a mixed greens salad, and a disappointing kale and arugula dish. The black cod was cooked perfectly, but the ribs were unimpressive. We decided to skip dessert. If you plan on going to Cedar and Elm, I recommend checking the current menu and reading recent reviews before going.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the service is top-notch! I ordered the mushroom frittata for brunch and it was fantastic. The croissant breakfast sandwich was also very tasty and beautifully presented. They do accept walk-ins and have availability.
I was extremely disappointed with my dinner at this restaurant. We ordered a variety of dishes, and while the Chicken schnitzel was excellent, it lacked any accompanying vegetables. The blackened cod was overly salty, to the point where I had to trade it with someone else who enjoys salty flavors. The oysters were barely edible due to being overly salty, and we left half uneaten. The beef short rib also suffered from being too salty. The desserts were mediocre at best. The only highlight was a small green salad that I paid $16 for. The bread at the beginning of the meal was good, but also overly salted. Unfortunately, my husband fell ill shortly after we returned home, possibly due to excessive salt consumption. Overall, the food did not live up to the high prices charged by the restaurant. While the service and atmosphere were adequate, the lack of value for the price was a major issue. In conclusion, I would rate the food a 2, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5 out of 10.
Best dinner I’ve had in a long time. The Gravlax and Pork Belly small plates started us off well and then the poussin was absolutely delicious. We rounded off the meal with a special dessert for our anniversary that blew us away. Big fan of the tiny earl grey marshmallows! Overall a fantastic evening. We will definitely be back.
From start to finish, our anniversary dinner at Cedar Elm was nothing short of extraordinary. Opting for the chef’s tasting menu, we were treated to a stunning progression of courses that showcased impeccable technique, creativity, and the finest ingredients. Each dish was perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were equally impressive, thoughtfully curated to enhance every dish and elevate the entire dining experience. Our favorites included the starter crab bites, the sliced steak course, and the dessert to finish. What truly set the night apart, however, was the outstanding service. Our dining staff went above and beyond to ensure our anniversary was celebrated in the most memorable way. From personalized touches to warm and attentive hospitality, we felt genuinely cared for throughout the evening. The attention to detail and passion from the staff were evident in every aspect of the experience. Chef Luke took the time to show us the kitchen hearth and explain how he came to be here at Cedar Elm. If you’re looking for an exceptional culinary journey, Cedar Elm delivers on every level. We left feeling not only satisfied but truly inspired by the level of care and craftsmanship that went into every course. We can’t wait to return for another dinner service!
