Shows the best subs you get in the larger area of Houston. My favorites are the Italian and the Cheesesteak Subs. They are always made with the freshest ingredients. Customer service is also Top Notch. I always think I'm a bite when I'm in the area... it never disappoints! Trust me, I'm a sub-director! View all feedback.
What Marianne Hyatt doesn't like about Antonini Subs Iii:
Monday evening. 5-21-18 all signs say open. Local magazine says best cheesteak subs but at 06:20 pm they arent open. There is no sign showing business hours or showing closed. Three customers waiting outside besides my wife and I. Thanks Antonini. I wanted cheesesteak. Major let down. View all feedback.
Sensational Sandwich Shop, one of the best places ( elsewhere) ever! The 12 is a legit large lower part, so only order if you are ready to accept the challenge or are ready to run around with remnants. We have the Cheese Steak and an Italian... indeed! Window seats were cozy, beer selection decent, and the service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. In any case, Antoninis will make one of our Go-to-stops for hearty sandwiches!
The only reason I post this review is because the service was so good. the place itself was very unpleasant to sit. we switched seats a few times because the chairs were super uncomfortable, and the floor is not flat so it sat harder. the food was under sub par. that wasn't the point, but it happened. Anyway, the steak was dry and strangely aromatized, as worcestershire sauce hits and paprika. the ketchup Mayo sauce was hardly applied, but it was also strange. the cheese was actually on the floor of the broth, so that the sandwich just broke and fell apart. for the Italian sub it was extremely difficult to eat, considering that the meat after the salat and the tomato was laid over the top and whatever was on it. when they fold it so, the meat just clamps all the way out of the sub and gets hardly a quarter of it. I tried to coat it again so that I could close that sandwich, but the brot was so thick and it just fell apart, I just gave up. the oil and the vinegar were not present, and there was no mayo or anything else on it, so it was also extremely dry. not good. I'm not sure why this place has so many places because I was least impressed. Maybe it was a curse, or maybe a bad place, but I would be willing to give him another shot, but that's it. I think they need to change everything they can to make their subs better. don't waste your time.
After we met the other bars around the area, we stopped for a late night to sober sandwiches. Our group had the turkey sandwich, the turkey steak, the meatball and the roast beef. The food was great. The service was nice. Just make sure to ask what is on the sandwich to customize as needed.
This pic is the large cheese steak. It is the best cheese steak I've had in Texas. I'm a big fan of pepper relish on my CS and Antonnini's has done a great job with it. The onions were cooked perfectly and complimented the tasty and tender grill chopped steak. It comes with a sauce, which if I was guessing is a ketchsup, mayo base. It was a nice addition. Bread was grilled on the inside and soft on the outside. Now I want one for breakfast after writing this review.
I've had the meat ball sub and the Philly cheese steak and both sandwiches were exceptional! I really enjoyed the customer service as well the cook is right there and very friendly.
