The Hotel decided to block... read more I would like to update the below post. I made a similar post on their instagram account hoping to warn other guests about this hotel. The Hotel decided to block me instead of taking into account any of the concerns that I voiced pertaining to cleanliness and condition of the room. This is the type of establishment that Ednam House is. BUYER BEWARE! We booked a stay at the hotel for my husband’s birthday. The hotel looked very nice in the photos, but the photos must not have been updated in over a decade at least. I wish I had read the reviews before booking a stay. We paid £150 for a river view room and I believe we honestly paid way too much.The rooms are tired and in need of major refurbishment. The carpet is old and dirty looking and the beds are uncomfortable. I could feel every spring in the mattress as there was no cushion at all. Two small beds had been pushed together to make our full bed. The shower heads were calcified, likely never been cleaned. There was a thick layer of dust on the mirror and picture frames. It was very depressing staying there knowing how much we paid. I would have been happier in a Travel Lodge. The hallway outside our room had laundry bags sitting there the entire stay. There is a free breakfast in the morning, but I honestly wish I had skipped it. The coffee was luke warm and the eggs were so so. I also had the most overcooked hard mushroom on my plate. Book this hotel if you are looking for disappointment. Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 4

Like stepping back into history. Beautiful view of the river from the rooms and dining room. The garden is perfect for a wedding, garden party or simply to enjoy a drink. The meals are delicious my favourites are the duck and the pork. I love it here and so will you whether you visit for a drink, meal or to stay. I’m planning my next visit already. Service: 5

The room was great... read more My wife and I stayed on the 8th March 2024. The hotel is lovely well maintained and spotless. Big fires and comfortable lounge areas and bar. The room was great and clean and tidy,the beds very nice. In the morning the breakfast is served overlooking the river and it was a big breakfast,well cooked and properly served.
