Gueng Korean Restaurant - Kelowna

The staff was friendly and attentive. The cooking took a bit longer than expected. I ordered the spicy rice cake, kimchi fried rice, spicy bark soup, brombeer wine, bumap, and black bean noodle. It felt like I was eating the delicious dishes straight out of a Korean drama.

We decided to have an early dinner at Gueng. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and discovered that we were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered the bibimbap, rice cake bowl, and cold buckwheat noodle bowl. The bibimbap and buckwheat noodles were delicious. However, the rice cake dish was overly sweet and the rice cakes were quite thin. There were also small flat leaves in the dish that resembled tofu but had a break-like taste. In general, the food was good, but we felt it was overpriced. This could be due to the proximity of other Korean restaurants in the area.

This feels like my Korean girlfriends home Great place to get proper spicy Korean food and soju or sake to cool down the palette.

The Korean food at this Kelowna restaurant is authentic. The friendly owner provides great service and it is a family-run establishment.
