Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Keller

Today, my dad and I stopped in for lunch, and I ordered my usual chicken pesto flatbread. Everything seemed fine at first; my smoothie was refreshing, and I even noticed a lovely family walking in. However, when our food arrived, I opened my wrap and immediately noticed the pesto sauce was a much darker color than it usually is. I didn’t think too much of it at the time, but about 20 minutes later, I started to feel nauseous. I ended up vomiting several times, and my stomach was in pain. A few hours later, I vomited four more times (yes, I’m keeping count) and began experiencing other symptoms like rashes, redness on my face, dizziness, chills, and, of course, more vomiting. If I had to guess, the issue with the pesto sauce stemmed from cross-contamination or food poisoning. Regardless of the cause, it was a painful experience. Whoever prepared my sandwich should have noticed how different the pesto sauce looked and not used it. It really isn’t that difficult to check. Here’s another unfortunate tidbit: I originally intended to apply for a job here, but now I’ve changed my mind. I do think the staff is genuinely kind, but given this experience, I’ve decided against working here. Moving forward, I plan to visit a different Tropical Smoothie Cafe because I don’t want to go through anything like this again. The moral of the story? If something looks off or different, don’t eat it. Sure, some of this might be my fault, but when you think about it, it really isn’t. This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten food poisoning from a restaurant I frequent. If I could, I’d give this place zero stars. Edit: 6:26 PM, five times.

I haven't been disappointed by any of the Tropical Smoothie locations I've visited! I really value the young staff working at places like this, as opposed to older employees who may not be as energetic. The restaurant was clean, and the service was fast.

I was helped today by a girl named Specer, and she is the best employee I've ever interacted with. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe!

Overall, it was a great experience at the restaurant. The food was served hot and tasted delicious. The drinks arrived promptly as well. My only issue was with the automatic tip option. It starts at 15%, and if you're in a hurry and not paying close attention, it can be easy to overlook. I ended up tipping $4.36 without realizing it. ?

The restaurant seems quite disorganized each time I visit, but the lunch I had was decent and reasonably priced. I would appreciate if they offered more side options. The smoothie I tried was fine, but nothing to rave about.
