We owned kekerungu store in the 80,s when it had a post office and petrol pumps,it was our family business, In those days it was a very busy place catering for the tourists and locals, We have lived all around nz and have never found a more peaceful and beautiful place to live.
We arrived early in the morning and were welcomed by a beautiful log fire along with an incredible building and setting. We enjoyed scones and coffee, and my brother-in-law has declared that they are the best scones he has ever had. It was a great place to unwind and savor the day.
Me and my Dad stopped here 2 years ago. We travelled to New Zealand all the way from Detroit, Michigan (USA). Like many tourists, I was inspired by Lord of the Rings. Great food scenery. Can't wait to come back!
What a fantastic spot to take a break! The food is delicious, and the views are amazing! So many people miss out on this hidden gem by driving right past it!
