Kefalos - Kefalonia

The location is not accurate. If you search for Kefalos on Google, it directs you to a different place. I'm not even sure if it's the same restaurant. It needs to be updated.

We were recommended to visit this traditional tavern by a friend who was supported by The Vegan Guys. The restaurant serves typical Greek dishes, some of which are vegan or can be veganized. The staff were knowledgeable and accommodating when it came to vegan options. We arrived early and tried a variety of tapas-style starters. The fried Courgettes were surprisingly delicious, and the thyme and garlic mushrooms cooked in white wine were a standout dish. We found that Kefalonia was quite vegetarian-friendly overall, but many places were unsure about vegan options. It was refreshing to find a restaurant that understood and catered to vegans so well. The food was enjoyable, and we would definitely return if we were to visit the island again.

The staff at this restaurant were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. They were able to point out items on the menu and suggest alternatives. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were reasonable. Update from a previous review on January 8th, 2024.

I decided to try this restaurant based on online reviews. We started with the hummus and stuffed vine leaves appetizers. For our main course, we ordered the stuffed peppers and tomatoes, as well as a pasta dish. Unfortunately, both dishes were underwhelming. The staff also appeared to be unhappy. I do not plan on visiting this restaurant again.
