Newly remodeled. New menu. Normally these are great things for a restaurant. They may still have the best onion rings in Kearney but honestly I was too afraid to order them. Ten years ago I would have sent you here for every meal...not today. Today was miserable. They took my favorite item off the menu, they were out of the wine I wanted, the service was tough to even watch, and to top it off, two different bartenders looked my husband in the eye, then walked away, before we found someone to cash out our overpriced drinks so we could leave to find dinner elsewhere. Wow Cellar. Just, wow.

Yes I was a weekend night at 7pm but there were only 7 other tables full in the restaurant. Onion rings were delicious! Wait staff was professional and kept apologizing for the cook staff being so behind. Prices are higher for average food, and after a long wait you just leave dissatisfied.

After its remodel, we thought we’d give it another shot, but our first impression was not promising; we walked in to see employees smoking right by the entrance. On a positive note, our server, Damon, was fantastic and provided exceptional service. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and the gravy was lacking in flavor, the corn was overcooked and mushy as if it had been microwaved, and the dinner rolls were too hard to be enjoyable. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because of Damon’s attentive service. They might want to consider investing in a more skilled cook rather than just spending on the remodel.

My fiancé ordered a steak, hoping for a top-quality cut given the price, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. I ordered a Bloody Mary, and it fell short of what I've experienced in the past—there wasn't even a garnish! It's unlikely that we'll be coming back.
