Probably the cheapest vegan lunch in kaunas (and vilnius) (4 4.5 eur. suppe main.) we had balandėliai and pumpkin soup. the part was a little too much for me, a... read more Probably the cheapest vegan lunch in kaunas (and vilnius) (4 4.5 eur. suppe main.) we had balandėliai and pumpkin soup. the part was a little too much for me, and I usually like larger portions! the food had a home like quality and was quite delicious. the location is quite easily accessible in the center of the city. the atmosphere in the caffe is not the fantastic or coziest, so they do not expect to lie there long. also the roggenbrot that comes with suppe was somehow communal, it was divided between the tables. that is, imo, quite unhygienic, especially given the current pandemic.

The menu is rather limited but is changing every day to provide variety of dishes. For 5€ you can get a lunch set that includes a large portion of soup and the main dish. Most dishes are vegan, but some are vegetarian so it is better to double check when ordering. It is also nice that they also offer free tea or water. The place is popular among locals and can get very busy around noon.

The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is small and cozy. Definitely the spot to visit for a delicious and healthy snack or drink.
