We did not expect a stylish and affordable French restaurant just in Katoomba. Everything perfect - design, atmosphere, food, music and service. I will not talk long: visit the Rooster and see, you deserve it! View all feedback.

My wife and I stayed the night at the guest house and dined at the restaurant in the eveningDefinitely won't be our last time here.
Cosy little French Restaurant & guest house with a varying menu covering Breaskfast, morning tea, Lunch, afternoon tea & dinner with a full bar so you can
We enjoyed a 7-course degustation dinner here last Sunday night. Everything was very good and we had a lovely evening, especially with the added bonus of the violinist. However, it was an expensive meal, especially given that we had an equally good 6-course meal the night before that also included matched wines for less!
We enjoyed a very special French dinner experience at this restaurant. The decor in this olde home extrudes French provincial with a number of artefacts to delight. The Bar room is special.Although we had booked in a few weeks ago, we did not anticipate the level of welcoming, finesse, and attention, including live French guitar music on a Monday night. As it transpires there were a number of other guests arriving throughout our stay, and the restaurant was well patronage on the night. The menu is traditional French and very appetising. There were a number of specials to the menu. The beverage list is extensive and includes Krononberg beer on tap and a blend of Australian and a larger array of French wine choices. The wait staff were welcoming, engaging in conversation, informative about meal considerations and attentive. For our meal selections we chose the French onion soup soufflé and the spanner crab roulade with caviar in a sea food broth , a special, to start. The soufflé , whilst an interesting variance, my partner felt she would still prefer the traditional French onion soup. For me, the spanner roulade was both tasty and delicate as an entree should be.Our mains comprised of: for my partner , was a small serving of **** a vin - tasty and good value. The main for me was the duck breast which in my experience I have not enjoyed a larger duck breast piece (2) of meat and better cooking . Excellent. The meals were well prepared and plated and presented in a timely manner, with adequate support vegetables without a need to order sides. Our wines were a French Champagne by the glass to start, followed by a Bottle of Chablis . I then elected for a glass of a Rhone red blend of Cabernet, Shiraz and one other? , to accompany my duck breast dish. All very good wines. Our French guitarist provided entertaining music which was non intrusive and songs throughout which was quite romantic.Overall, we had a perfect French dining experience which was memorable and well appreciated . Thank you.We do recommend this restaurant for those who wish to embrace French fine dining .
We had one of the most beautiful meals of our trip at this gorgeous French restaurant. Excellent service, attentive and warm with a lot of knowledge about the food and wines. As a large group, we had chose many different meals and everybody thought their meal was the best! Highlights for me was the Pork Neck, Escargot and Creme Brule. We will be back and recommend anyone visiting the Blue Mountains to get a great meal here!
