We stayed at the Mountain Heritage Guesthouse and really enjoyed it. We chose to eat in the restaurant on Friday evening, and had good attentive, prompt service. The food was hot, well flavoured and served stylishly. My husband had the eye fillet steak and said...it had been cooked well by the Chef, as it was an aged piece of beef, and the Chef hadn't toughened it up. I loved the Duck Shiitake Spring Roll, it was amp... View all feedback.

Had dinner while staying at the Mountain Heritage. The nicest part of dinner was not having to go out and worry about getting to and fro, the convenience of a quality restaurant under our nose was great. I had beef and my partner chicken and I had chicken and corn soup and bread entree. A bottle of wine with dinner and we ended up paying $165 which was reasonable value for money. The food in this restaurant is over priced and of poor quality. I had the scallops which were watery and overcooked, my wife had the ravioli starter which at best could be described as rubber. The lamb was over cooked and the service was poor. I would not advise anyone to eat in this establishment
My partner and I had an enjoyable meal here, but we were a bit worried at first. As we were staying at the Mountain Heritage Hotel I had decided to book a table at Jamison Views through the website, at the time I booked the room a few weeks in advance. Unfortunately the hotel had no record of that and, whilst there was still room for us at the restaurant, our resulting "late booking" meant that our table had no view at all.Fortunately for us, a couple who had secured a table with a view decided that they didn't want it, so our very kind waiter moved us just before taking our order. We were so pleased as the view from the restaurant is stunning, and just the perfect backdrop to dinner. But to secure your good seats I recommend booking early, and by phone, otherwise you may find your table to be disappointing. The garlic bread and duck entrees we ordered were just okay, and the Eye Fillet steaks we both had for mains were very tasty, but far from the "medium rare" we had ordered; they were "well done" in my book. But like I said, they were still very tasty, and we continued to enjoy the view as the sun disappeared and the stars started to twinkle, and our bottle of red started to get empty. All in all it was a nice evening, with the added bonus of a very short walk "home"!
Our meal was lovely, plenty of choice on the menu. Great choice of wines and service was attentive. Lovely spacious set up of tables. Plenty of views through large windows.
My partner had the pork, and having sampled it found it the best I have ever tasted. My steak was enjoyable. Staff are very friendly, excellent service.
We are locals and thought after five years we'd finally try having dinner at Jamison Views Restaurant to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The decor was nice and piano player. We sat down and ordered reasonably quickly, had our entree and then the long wait for our mains which never came. At least four other couples at tables who sat down well after us received their meals. We asked a few times and were told a couple of mins. 1.5 hours later we gave up and walked out. The advice we were told was 'it's one of those nights, kitchen was slammed' - well you didn't appear that busy and there's no excuse. Never again. We won't be recommending it to friends or family who come for visits.
