This restaurant, in an old house, is like a museum inside. All sorts of collectible items are displayed throughout. WE just had grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for lunch, but they were very good. Prices were reasonable and service was very good. View all feedback.
I make it a routine to stop in at the Rosewood each time I visit Kaslo or I'm driving through to my other destination. The service is friendly and professional, and the food is a taste sensation. Everything is made from scratch, from the sauces to the buns and breads. Worth every dollar knowing care and quality has gone into every meal. Added to the stay are walls decorated with so much antiquities and past memories of staff members and generations of families children that have worked here, it gives a very homey feel for me. Thank You Grant and P.J.
I apologize for the delay in posting this review, but after reading others, I felt compelled to share my positive experience. The quality and quantity of the menu items at this restaurant were impressive, and we even had enough leftovers for a second meal. Unfortunately, we were seated near a reviewer who had a negative experience with the waitress and food quality. However, there are always two sides to a story and we were relieved when that guest left. We hope her behavior was due to a medical issue rather than her typical personality. On a brighter note, we learned that even the vanilla syrup, mayo, and ketchup are made from scratch, the bread is baked fresh each morning, and the breadsticks were outstanding. We can't wait to return, as the attentive staff, including the non-teenage waitress, were all wonderful.
What a find in Kaslo! Our family enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio. The soup of the day was borscht and was packed with veggies; my daughter who never usually eats soup couldn't stop eating mine! The kids enjoyed their schnitzels and homemade lemonade from the Kids Menu. I loved my blackened chicken and my husband equally enjoyed his chicken in pastry. Definitely recommend a pie or crumble for dessert - generous portions of summer fruits!
My wife and I ate here both nights that we were in Kaslo. It is a very popular spot. The restaurant is in a house which has quite a history. You will have to eat there to get the history. The menu has many interesting salads and soup. The entree choices are interesting. I had the pork schnitzel the first night and pasta the second night. Both were delicious. I topped off the meal with the house pie for dessert. This restaurant is a must visit in Kaslo
We decided to go out for a meal instead of cooking ... well worth it! Everyone had something different off the menu and everyone was satisfied! We had just ordered the meal when power was lost, I was not sure they would be able to cook our meal and we had started to discuss what to have at home.. however we ended up having a wonderful candlelight dinner! Truly a gem and worth a visit!
