I had the worst piece of fish ever at this restaurant. I was expecting the barramundi to be good in Karumba, but it was full of gristle! I ordered the $13 fish and chips special. However, the banana smoothie was much better compared to the one at the Barramundi discovery centre, where I couldn't buy barramundi fish and chips and had to settle for a milkshake instead.
This restaurant is known for serving the best fish and chips in town. The coffee is also delicious, and the Wednesday night roast is a must-try. Due to its popularity, the place can get busy, but the wait is definitely worth it.
Pleasant enough surrounds and the food was good with a large helping of Barra and chips. Even the meat pies were very good. Cool drinks were excellent with a tropical and a watermelon/mint out choices.
Lovely fresh food, fruit juices squeezed in the shop and good coffee. Good service and plenty of locals buying lunch.
Mick’s Cafe was conveniently located right across the road from Matilda’s End Holiday Units where I was staying so I popped in for breakfast. It look awhile to open as they received a delivery didn’t have the manpower to serve and deal with that at the same time (it’s a country town I guess) so I came back later. The food coffee was good.
