I had the worst piece of fish ever at this restaurant. I was expecting the barramundi to be good in Karumba, but it was full of gristle! I ordered the $13 fish and chips special. However, the banana smoothie was much better compared to the one at the Barramundi discovery centre, where I couldn't buy barramundi fish and chips and had to settle for a milkshake instead.
Pleasant enough surrounds and the food was good with a large helping of Barra and chips. Even the meat pies were very good. Cool drinks were excellent with a tropical and a watermelon/mint out choices.
This cafe is a great little find in Karumba. Eclectic, yet comfortable decor, and the service is amazing, with a variety of fresh, house-made snacks and meals. After a few days on the road, it was wonderful to have a bowl of freshly made fruit salad. The cafe is attached to the supermarket, which is handy if you need some provisions. Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Highly recommended.
This restaurant is known for serving the best fish and chips in town. The coffee is also delicious, and the Wednesday night roast is a must-try. Due to its popularity, the place can get busy, but the wait is definitely worth it.
