much better than dieucks! gediegenes ambiente, friendly people. safe, even here there is self-service, but the prices are fair and the coffee is really, really, really good. like the muffins, bagels and what else they serve. for people who go back and forth, there is still a stamp card (each 11 coffee free.) What Devendra Bhatti doesn't like about Moccasin:
The place looks very similar to a Starbucks with the same concept for ordering and serving only a little poorer. We have ordered hot chocolate and iced chocolate as well as a cream cheese bagel. Both drinks were too milky for my taste and needed...a lot more chocolate or cocoa. The bagel was Ok. I would not recommend the place, any other bakery in town would do a better job. I was there and ate two muffins with coffee. All were ok not perfect. The place is also ok and nothing special
A bit of a soulless coffee shop. We had some confusion as to wether we had ordered or coffees. They thought two we thought three. Of the two they did make one was cold, even cold after the first reheat. Once enough hot...water was added we had a warm watery coffee. Eventually they made the coffee and then insisted we pay. In fact they decided that accosting my wife in the toilets to insist she paid was the best method of insisting. Not sure if we had paid or not the maths was ambiguous. But really just one of those bad experiences
Delicious coffee and a massive selection of drinks! The sandwiches and cakes are average but quite nice. However, the seats are very uncomfortable so unless you're sitting on the outside tables take your coffee to go and sit in the schloss garten nearby I often...do that as it is so beautiful
This was a very confusing little coffee shop. I visited as the reviews suggested it was the best coffee in Karlsruhe but to be honest I feel bad even giving it a rating. They clearly roast their own coffee yet from what I could tell...all coffee was roasted to the same level, regardless of the bean, source or time of year. The service was pretty poor and the cakes and cookies looked under cooked. I had one cookie it was too chewy and artificial. The coffee itself was burned and the milk over foamed for a cappucino this is criminal. They need to review the production of micro foam and the temperature required for cappuccino which is typically degrees milk. Also I do not understand their system for machines. They had a beautiful espresso machine, the type one has wet dreams about using, yet beside it they had a really crappy automatic thing that they were using for nearly everything. Overall, not worth the effort in looking for and I hope they look around at other Kaffee Roasterei or Coffee Roasters in London, Berlin even Freiburg where I live and see what they are doing, and how they can improve their product. For the average German who is quite content with a burned bakery coffee this is fine. Coffee snobs avoid
Nice cake and coffee, small cosy place for students, good options for tea drinkers, well located, central and close to the castle
