What Julie Bouchet doesn't like about Jaroon`s American Diner:
eating was only average, pommes and burgers have tasted strongly after fat. burger was very tasteless good portions sweet potato pomes would have been very good without the greasy taste View all feedback.
Close to the zkm where we were founded for days, we thought it could be fun to try out the curious American joint of the museum. that was a mistake that we will soon not forget, laughing in the kitsch and the bolshy...aim to drink when eating arrived. I ordered a mozzarella salad that was great, and disgusting. low cheese with a little bizarre tasting pesto smeared on it, and a bree salad. it's hard to get a simple salad wrong, but jaroon has nailed it! my partner ordered a burger in American style. he reported that the slimy patty came covered in prawn cocktail sauce and dubious-tasting pickles. the patty itself had this special rubber-like, non-meaty taste, which is usually found only in the school-lunch room. it came covered with a side of frozen ofenkeile (not terrible as they were before-fab) and jaroons special cole slaw ie. sourkraut with mayonnaise and paprika. he could not finish his meal, but with a bad taste. we were both miserable to share with money for this fiasko (and nothing to sneak, this meal two diet koks cost euro), the staff was beautiful, but dressed as police, which is due to how this food is criminal.
My man and I (we live in Germany) came to this place after or before a film session. the restaurant is located in the building where the film-shower is, directly at the ticketbox. we liked it until they started to control the sitting on very unpleasant wise. they have stalls that can sit in people, and even if they are available from these stands at once, we can't sit there more than a few. that's just stupid, and they're gonna make us sit in stalls, because they're tiny. also when we went to the april after a movie there, they asked us to order as soon as possible because they closed the kitchen for the night, it was p.m but the website said that they were open until a.m. even the desserts had to be ordered in advance and they came halfway through our meal at our table. the burgers and the fries were also a bit cold. we felt like unintentional visits, with the owner who wanted us as soon as possible from there (that is very common in German restaurants, they act as if they were going to do one like they don't pay for the service). we will not return to this place again. we prefer to drive a few miles to american diner durlach (where parking is free, by the way).
In close proximity to the ZKM, where we were based for days, we thought it might be fun to try out the novelty american joint by the museum. This was a mistake we will not soon forget laughter at the kitsch and bolshy...environment turned to tears when the food arrived.I ordered a mozzarella 'full meal' salad, which was large, and disgusting. Low grade cheese with some bizarre tasting pesto smeared on it, and a pile of lettuce. It's hard to get a simple salad wrong, but Jaroon's nailed it! My partner ordered an 'Americanstyle burger'. He reported that the slimy patty came covered in prawn cocktail sauce and dubioustasting pickles. The patty itself had that specific rubbery nonmeaty taste that is usually only found in the school lunch room. It came with a side of frozen oven wedges not terrible, as they were prefab and Jaroon's special cole slaw, ie. sauerkraut covered in mayonnaise and paprika. He was not able to finish his meal but left with a poorly stomach. We were both miserable to part with money for this fiasco and nothing to sneeze at, this meal two diet cokes cost euros, the staff were lovely but dressed as police, which stands to reason as this food is criminal
My husband and I we live in Germany used to come to this place after or before a movie session. The restaurant is inside the building where the movie thater is, right by the ticket box. We used to like it until they started controlling...the seating in a very unpleasant manner. They have booths that can sit to people, and even when there are of these booths available at once we can't, as a couple, sit there anymore. This is just stupid, and they make us sit in booths for that are tiny. Also when we went there on April after a movie they asked us to order as quickly as possible necause they wanted to close the kitchen for the night it was p.m. but the website said that they were open until a.m. Even the desserts had to be ordered in advance and they arrived at our table halfway through our meal. The burgers and the fries were also a bit cold. We felt like unwanted visits, with the owner wanting us out of there as soon as possible this is very common in German restaurants, they act like they're doing you a favor, as if you weren't paying for the service. We won't be going back to this place. We'd rather drive a few miles to American Diner Durlach instead where parking is free, by the way
Before the cinema my partner and I wanted to take another burger to us. the ordered burgers were rather disappointing,...More
