Even though it was a Tuesday night, the place was full and we were glad we had reserved a table. Rustic, Bavarian style pub with the kind of food you would expect here: Schnitzel, Maultaschen, steaks, wurstsalat but also specials on the board including lamb chops, vegetarian curry and tafelspitz (braised beef with horseradish sauce). What Claudia Ö doesn't like about Gutenberg:
The setting is nice, traditional in front room and modern in the rear. The food was good German average. The service was poor: it took ages for the waiter to take orders, the beer waited for 10 15 minutes on the counter and then the waiter thanked us that we told him it was ours because he had not known anymore for whom it was (instead of replacing it with a fresh one... and finally it took 30 minutes for the food to... I never thought that Apricot and cheesecake went together. But, it was one of the best dessert combinations! I love it! The food and staff were great. Loved sitting in the courtyard on a lovely summer evening! Thanks

The only drawback were the spätzle German soft egg noodles that were obviously out of a packet. Not what you expect in this kind of restaurant.
I visited this neighborhood restaurant with a colleague from my local office. The service was very good, as well as the food. I visited during ASpargel (asparagus) season and had a delicious apsaparagus dish with ham and melted cheese on top. The waitress was very friendly and nice. The food was very good too. This restaurant is off the beaten path, in a neighborhood setting, across from a small park. We sat outside, despite possible rain showers coming. They didn't come, so we had a good time. Food is traditional Badisch. I will probably some again, if I'm nearby.
Traditional German food and atmosphere, beers and wine. Food was OK but nothing special. Variety of beers and wines. Tasty salads, good steak, but spaetzle was a disappointment. Friendly but slow staff.
