Try the Cafe down the road instead. Less commercialized. If you do decide to go make sure you make reservations. You will sit in a room with about 20 people. There is no in and out around a table(stump) that sits at your knees. If you don't have reservations they will feed you, fast and rushed with okay service. They won't lite the fire so the mosquitos will get you nor will they serve their appetizer bread. Food is okay but the Reindeer was better at Sami Siida in Alta and I feel that place was more authentic and the price more appropriate than Storgammen. Expect tour busses to take up large spaces at Storgammen. That appears to be their main market.

The variety is not very extensive although its dishes are very tasty.Respect to treatment and service, very friendly and close at all times.prices somewhat elevated but to say... in Norway everything is something more expensive

So, I definitely recommend a reservation for your visit to the restaurant. Service was friendly. The meals were delicious: We had Gammen Burger, the char fish and mushroom risotto. The ambiance resembles a little the Sami cottages and tents that you can see in the nearby Sami Park or the Sami Museum: We liked it a lot!
