A beautiful ocean front restaurant at the very chic Montage Resort at Kapalua on the North Shore of Maui. Not only is the setting wonderful, but the food and the wait staff are extraordinary. You are met with great courtesy and the dishes are presented with great flair by a gracious happy and unstuffy set of servers. The menu is not vast, but the dishes are exquisite. What stan smith doesn't like about Cane Canoe:
Normally, Brunch at the Montage is exceptional, but not this time. Service was beyond slow. We had to wait almost 15 minutes for our waiter to come to the table and then another 15 minutes just for the juice and coffee. When the food arrived is was only lukewarm, not hot. Considering there were only three other table occupied in the restaurant, this was inexcusable. Overall, a very dissappointing experience. View all feedback.
Disappointing. Expected more of a top notch experience. Service was just OK. Food when compared to Merrimans did not reach our expectations. By 8:30pm the restaurant had cleared out. Saw other patrons complaining. Really a weird experience.
They have done a terrific job with the hire of the new chef! The food and service were excellent! Lindsay was wonderful as our waitress!! All and all we had a fabulous time! It is a must try!!
So amazing! The live music and beautiful view would be enough on their own, but the food was even better than we remembered. Will definitely be back!!
I was very upset that the mai tai uses bacardi. I’m not expecting top shelf but something more than bottom shelf would have been nice, especially for $24. The MOKULELE was basically water and the FRESCA CALIENTE was straight tequila in the bad way. The gnocchi appetizer was good; super crispy gnocchi. The charred octopus was too charred and over salted. The ahi, although butter and very well cooked, was completely overpriced. $60 for three tiny pieces of fish is criminal. The catch of the day wasn’t much better, with the size of the fish being as big as the palm of an average sized hand. Also, the potato’s were not crispy and bathing in oil. The baked Hawaiian was ok. None of the flavors complimented each other and the half cooked potatoes is an interesting choice. The bathrooms are incredible though with CLOTH NAPKINS and instant hot water.
Amazing view. Great quality of food. Amazing five star service.
