We have loved Sam's since it opened and have regularly dined there when we are on the island. We winter on Kauai in Kapaa. We are so disappointed that it is closing. I want to wish Sam the best of luck in her future endeavors. She may remember meeting us with our daughter-in-law from South Africa soon after she opened. View all feedback.
What Conrad Rosenbaum doesn't like about Sam's Ocean View:
We arrive 5 mins before 4pm re opening time we're treated rudely, told to wait outside, then hostess made a boisterous point of checking that the sign said they open for dinner at 4pm was still up. SO RUDE@ My Wagyu beef sliders were overcooked tremendously dry, flavorless and gray. Mentioned this to our server his only answer was if I wanted ketchup! French fries were fantastic. I have to agree with Miguel completelyWe were there last weekWe could not get a refill on drinks toward the end of our meal.
First time Had the Fish and ChipsThe Maui Maui was plump and cooked well The batter was not greasy and had a great taste.
Beautifully scenic outdoor seating. The food was average, but the view of Mirror Pond made up for it.
We were able to sit out on the patio and had just a wonderful lunch. The food was delicious and the people were friendly and attentive. It seems they've remodeled it and it looks better than ever
