Holland, More Than Pancakes - Kampen

Our hotel recommended Holland for pannekoeken. They had a huge selection of both sweet and savory pannekoekens which is important to me. I don 't care for sweet pannekoekens unless it 's dessert. My wife had a sweet brie and almond pannekoeken while I had a savory pizza-like pannekoeken with salami, peppers, leeks, and a pepper sauce. And what a surprise: they served the best (so far) Dutch beer I 've had, Puur which was very hoppy. The servers were very nice and helpful; when I asked what is 'preis? ', she could not translate to English so she brought out a sample of leeks to show me! That 's the way to provide customer service! This is a nice place on the walk platz very near the old Gothic house the bell tower.

Food was fine, daring and tasty, cozy atmosphere, nice open kitchen with a brigade clearly attuned to each other.
