Govinda's - Kampala
Govinda's
Description
Govinda's, a Hare Krishna vegetarian restaurant in Kampala, presents a diverse Indian menu that captivates some diners while disappointing others. While many appreciate the generous portions and flavorful offerings—especially the affordable thali buffet—others find inconsistencies in the quality, noting soggy dosas and forgotten items like sambar. The ambiance is inviting, but service can be lacking, with reports of moody staff. The atmosphere is complemented by a small, unclean area for handwashing. Despite the drawbacks, patrons are drawn back for the friendly community vibe and spiritual experiences offered within this unique dining spot.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant and enjoyed delicious, flavorful dishes. The menu offered a wide variety of options and the service from the waitress was friendly.
I ordered the small thali at this restaurant. I was disappointed that they were out of the puri appetizers I had my eye on. There are plenty of similar places to eat in town, so I wouldn't make a special trip for this one.
I visited this restaurant once and had a meal. It was good but nothing exceptional. There aren't many options for pure vegetarian food around, so I'm happy that this place exists.
