Wir waren eher aus Zufall hier. Nach einem langen Schotter weg, landet man in einem gemütlichen Resort. Hier haben wir ein Motorboot zu fairen Preisen gemietet. Der Service war gut, echter Geheimtipp. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Roche Lake Resort:
Roche Lake Resort is a fun place to go after the wonderful Kamloops rainbow trout. The system has boats, motors and housings. The road is good when the resort is open. If you love big combat fish, this is the place for you. View all feedback.

I visited the resort for the day with a good friend to explore the variety of hiking trails. On return to the lodge after a 6 hour hike, we asked for two coffees on the patio. I have eaten in many resorts and urban restaurants around BC and elsewhere; although we had only coffees, the polite service and engagement with us was a most pleasant surprise and an instructive example as to how staff in the hospitality business ought to be.
Recently stayed at this resort taking the "Mid Week Special" Discounted rate plus food and boat rental and lodging(approx.575.00plus taxes and Gratuity on food). I love to tip but this automatic Gratuity on food was a surprise at the end!!(think 15%).Some other reviewers do not agree also.I first checked Trip Advisor Reviews then talked to my fishing buddies and sports Store owner. My neighbour stated he had stayed at the Provincial Campsite and caught some nice big trout lately. From Abbotsford area takes approx. 4hrs plus getting fuel in Merritt as a must or you might run out or pay a lot more at only one other gas station. Gravel road off the lower hwy 5A is good but wash boardy on some grade parts, should be graded again do to heavy traffic and rain's. Just follow the Roche Lake arrow signs to the end of the road. Appreciated those arrows on the trees! Our counter check in went smooth but as other reviews have said no fishing information person knowledgeable to ask questions of lake area. Answer was I do not know, people catch them off the dock! This was not comforting as never have been on this lake or area, but have fished for years and would of liked to get some hints on lake shore fishing areas and best fishing hookup to use. As we were experienced tried a few different hook up's until we learned where to fish and what is best. Got to have a tip board, hints, fisherman notes, spots on map with notes and what times are best as we found out ourselves. This is used at other resorts I have been fishing. Stayed at cabin 2B centre of resort picture and a very nice beautiful view of lake and sunset. Used boat 12. The life jackets are fine but seat cushions should be replaced as not adequate padding and well worn. Motor ran okay, a little fast for Ford Fenders(worked well near Prov Park campsite area) but we did a weave motion and solved the action. We hooked(3 times) and put a hole in a brand new net of ours on the steel wires sticking up holding the side boat bumpers and would suggest taping them or putting rubber over the wire ends. I/we also scraped our hand and wrist as ends sharp! Have owned fishing boats and use a rope instead. Girls(Haley,Paige,Aniko) very pleasant but at times too busy at the counter and also have to look after people in restaurant as we waited for food order, water, drinks, refills a little long at meals some days as this is a wanting to fish resort! Now not fussy eaters I thought, but cook must be new for some menu's food done different, as we could not finish some meals do to taste and quality. We do love steaks and pasta but ??. In this area I can only give a rating(3) as have experienced much better. Expected more home cooked style fresh bread meals. This resort is family friendly, also saw a dog & owner, pool and small hot tub, gravel driveable roads to units but parking in nearby lot. You will see rabbits, chipmunk who comes into the main room to the table for food or waits outside the window for food. Unit was very adequate, clean, and approx. 900ft. (2) loft beds, one main floor, could feel springs but fine. Nice view, patio, large windows, lighting at night could be a little brighter as hard to read. All bathroom items towels included and bedding and full item kitchen with fireplace. Lake reviews say have to work hard for fish, maybe yes and you should know how to fly fish and use fender line hookups or float/indicators with worms. We did all right I think! A couple fish 4-5+lbs,even let some grow! Softsand-13.
We haven't stayed at the resort but we eat there all the time when we camp at the Provincial site. They have an amazing chef who makes dishes one wouldn't expect in a spot so out of the way. The end of season Thanksgiving dinner buffet will have you needing to be wheeled out.
We stayed two nights at this resort on Roche Lake. This is a resort for hard core fishermen. Unfortunately in August the fish were not biting but we managed to kayak around the lake and to go kayaking on the nearby Horseshoe Lake. We ate two meals at the resort and the cook is very good, the food was very tasty and filling with large portions...as well as reasonable prices. There are boats and motors that can be rented and there is a dock and a put in if you have your own boat. We stayed in a chalet which was fine. The decor was a little "used and could be fixed up". We had to have them come and closed the bedroom window as it was stuck..and when we got there they were repairing the sliding glass door. They have a lot of rules and regulations to try to keep it nice. There are some people that actually own homes there so not all are rentals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a place for us to park our RV while we stayed there. It is a nice drive through the park to get there...the signage is very small and we thought that we couldn't enter the road to the resort because it said "no turn around". We didn't know that at the end of the road was the resort with a turnaround for RVs...so watch and really read the signs going to the resort.
