House of Kwan - Kamloops

Food just okay. staff nice and parking good in the location. quick to bring out food but did taste a bit salty. We had lemmon chicken and buffet before is not bad.

We ordered one of each combo for pick up at a specific time; it was ready when we arrived as scheduled - so this was really good as we were on a short time line. There was plenty of food. Each combo had three selections and all were ok, but the chow mien had absolutely no flavour. Only two packs of soy sauce to split between the two combos was not enough to liven up the chow mien. I have ate here in the past and remember ordering these same combos (years ago now) and do not remember the chow mien being like this. Other than that, the egg rolls were nice, the rice was tasty, the sweet and sour and the almond chicken was tender. Did not seem very traditional, more westernized. Server was excellent and friendly.

Not a great buffet. I think there were only about 8 items. For the price, one would expect more variety. The bad part was that I felt really queasy and uncomfortable after my meal...I didn't even eat that much. It was super greasy, the plates felt greasy, one server was nicer than the other, etc.It's a place to quickly fill your stomach when you're hungry. Not that much more. I'd find another lunch spot next time.

First time at this particular restaurant for the lunch buffet. My husband and I both enjoyed it. Dishes were hot and tasty even though there is a limited number of dishes. It was fresh, the service was very good. Would go again. Yes, I would recommend.

So, I am not a fan of giving someone bad reviews as I usually try to find something positive to say but this time the only positive thing to say is about the fortune cookie :(So we ordered take-out, for me it was the second time, and the dishes included were beef chow mein, honey garlic ribs and sweet & sour pork. The ribs and the pork tasted both like they were just boiled to get to temperature and then they poored some sauce over it et voila. Sadly the meat tasted watery and the sauces both were super tasteless. Just bland. I mean...there is usually so much sugar or sweetener in the sweet sour sauce that it is hard to have it not taste good or like anything, but hands down...no flavour what so ever!The ribs where the same, a little hint of honey, none of garlic and just soggy from the previous boiling. Again very disappointing.Last but not least: Chow mein. It looked good but even that tasted like they just threw everything together in one pan, no spices, no flavouring and even the beef in it didn't have anything on it. My partner and I both came to the same conclusion: very disappointing, never had such little flavour in food and will not order there again.(As for the first time me ordering there, we had esame chicken, which was with flavour and good, but dry garlic ribs which were horrible as well).So yes sorry, don't like leaving bad reviews but this had to be said :-/ and I also hope it was just a bad day for them...
