What User doesn't like about Frenchies Poutinerie:
Had a poutine from here a month or so ago after my daughter raved about the place. It was ok. Ordered a Quebecois from there last weekend and it was horrible. The fries were tired. The gravy was oily and had pieces of uncooked bacon...floating around in it. I love a good poutine but I won’t be giving frenchie any more of my cash! View all feedback.
Update: still the best. I highly recommend trying the buffalo chicken poutine - it is fabulous! The staff are wonderful and you can tell it's a great place just by looking at the mustache of the man running the store. Cheers! I've been back multiple times and it's always excellent. 10/10. You know it's a good sign when Rainn Wilson approves of your poutine.
One of the must-visit spots in Kamloops is this restaurant. They serve delicious traditional poutines as well as some creative poutine combinations. I tried the Donair poutine and it was amazing! Something not many people know about the owner is that he often donates a portion of his sales to the New Life Mission community. This organization provides services for marginalized, homeless, and individuals in crisis. I love supporting local businesses that give back to the community. - Jessii
I had the pig. Make sure you are hungry when you order regularly. Portions are very hearty. Very recommended to try when in the area and hankering for a poutine...
Frenchies has a great poutine: as some other reviews say, their pommes are crisp yet soft and tasty. That's it! They had plenty of gravy and cheese curds and large portions. Your service was friendly and in good time (even during a busy lunch hour), and the place was well kept. I'll go back and bring more friends.
My first poutine experience in Canada. You won't leave hungry. The fries were good and crisp and didn't get soggy despite the gravy (good), cheese curds, chicken, bacon, and peas. Tasty and totally justified my decision to go for a 10k walk in lieu of breakfast so I could fill up at lunch. And a quick note: they do take credit cards. Yelp info indicated they didn't.
